I voted late season. The woods are empty and the deer are calming down after gun season. Rut action in November is great but there's still some good action in December when the young does or ones that weren't bread come in to heat.
I'd have to say also right after a good blizzard. One of my best hunts was at my family farm after 13" of snow. I killed a coyote that day and had a super cool encounter with a 2 yr old buck I passed on. I love how you can see where everything has been and where it went. From their beds to their bloody estrous laced tracks to the hot scrapes. That was an amazing day. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I take vacation every year to ensure I can sit Nov 6-12. Can't beat the excitement of a doe flying by at mach 1. If I'm were to pick one day... November 9. Two of my three bow kills have occurred on the 9th. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Love it all but can't beat when the leaves turn and get some cool mornings. Love hearing the sound of a deer chasing on a November morning Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I voted for early season, but I love to bowhunt so I'm out every chance I get regardless what part of the season it is.
Early season for me as no private land anywhere near me so its all public land. We only have a 2 weeks of bow then muzzle loader season opens but I still use my bow then. Just so much pressure on deer its makes it harder to see the bucks later on.
As soon as Halloween gets here I'm as happy as a little school girl. Anytime after that through November. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here in Michigan, it's beautiful at Halloween when the leaves have turned & started falling, you can smell the woods changing & temps start dipping toward freezing at night! When the combines start cutting corn, I start bouncing off the walls & have to be in the woods all day! If we get snow, I have to tell God I love him too! From Halloween to the 15th... That's the best time of year.
I personally like early season for my spots... I wish we could hunt Sept here in MA when I could pattern the deer better... otherwise, the usual 2 week peak period of Nov.
Anytime for sure but probably the last week of October if I had to pick a week. An early season pattern can be very productive also and nothing beats a good chase going on around you during the rut either. Cmon fall!!!
Thanks for the reminder. I miss those days. Especially the fall colors when they are majestic in late September early October. The fresh cool sunrises and sunsets. Great memories. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
