Favorite scents for whitetail hunting - pre-rut v. rut

I've got some deer dander for my boots that I plan on using all season. It was highly recommended from what I've read.

What do you use pre-rut and during the rut?

Also, is my tinks 69 from last year still good? If I buy more at the store, is there any way to guarantee that it isn't left over from last year?

I pee in the scrape itself

Monster Raxx Anytime Acorns as a cover scent

 

Anyone else have input?

 

There are a lot of scent brands out there that say what year they were collected and bottled. I'd buy from one of those companies. Also, a lot of people have been talking about vanilla for early and late season.
