I have heard that Nugent is an absolute awesome guy to be around in camp. I know 2 guys that hunted with him, each on different occasions. Both of their stories echoed each other on how laid back and polite he was around everyone there. I did meet Tim Wells and talked to him for quite awhile when I was real little, way before he had his own show. At the time, I just thought it was cool that he had a bear skull with an arrow through it, but he sat there and talked to us for several minutes. I have met a few of the TV guys, and from that try to refuse following anything or anyone that has contact with Whitetail Properties or Hadley Creek Outfitters.
Tim Wells came to one of our bowfishing tournaments several years back. (back when I ran such things) He was really down to earth and fit right in with the rest of us rednecks. I did give him all sorts of grief when he and his team came back to the ramp way before weigh-in time. Something about team Relentless Pursuits giving up early. Heh. He probably hates me.
And I guess while I'm at, I've talked to Brackett a few times. I know he rubs some people the wrong way but he's always been nice to me and didn't come off as arrogant or boisterous. Maybe I just bring out the best in people. bwahahahaha.
I've never meet any of them , but given the chance there are 4 that I'd like to break bread or hunt with. Cameron Hanes, Bill Winke, Grant Woods and Randy Newberg. Just seems like these guys have a lot of knowledge, passion and drive. Also Carbon TV.com has access to a lot of the shows online.
These guys rub me the wrong way as well, maybe it's because as a former Realtor of 20 years doing land, farms and timber tracts I can see through their scam..
RMEF is my favorite hunting show, like most of those guys because they're not "celebrities". BHOD is awesome, Cameron Hanes fan too.
Can't believe only 1 person mentioned Tiffany. Easy on the eyes but I have to hit the mute button to watch her.
I like Bill Wenke and the heartland bowhunter guys. They seem to be down to earth. On the Ted Nugent thing. I grew up about 5 miles from his place in Michigan. His kids (daughters)were about my age, the boys were a little younger. We would literally see him at the local gas station or little coffee shop. I wouldn't pretend to know him, but he was always nice and respectful from what I could tell. His daughters weren't too bad on the eyes either! LOL
I would have to say Dr.Grant is my favorite celebrity to gain knowledge from but, I enjoy watching the Lakoskys adventures along with Cameron Hanes.
My favorite ? Probably Grant Woods.Second would be Philip Vanderpool, main reasons for liking him is that he lives in AR and he lives less than a quarter mile from my house.Ive met him a few times and he seems like a really down to earth guy.
I'm a big fan of the heartland bowhunter guys, particularly mike and Sean. I've met all of them on a couple occassions and they are the definition of down to earth, hardworking, passionate bowhunters. Regardless of the shows success, I'm sure they'd all still treat bowhunting whitetails the same. I also like Christian Berg (editor of petersens bowhunting), bill wenke, and John Dudley. Cole Phebus, pat Howard, Thomas ash, and tom lester make the list too ;-)
