Fitting song for this thread enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh5UevdKIk4&feature=youtube_gdata_player For me I like to shoot my xdm and kahr cm9. I don't own any rifles but want a mossberg MVP in 308. Killed the most animals with my 870.
Weatherby Mark V 7MM Rem Mag for me. This gun, I inherited from my dad when he passed away. He bought it the year before, put a Leupold VXIII scope on it and never fired a shot out of it. I've since shot it in, and take it to the woods every year, leaving my other guns in the cabinet. In fact, I have a Remington 700 in the same caliber that I believe I'm going to sell. I don't need it. This gun has sentimental value.
My great grandfather's 1901 Harrington & Richardson shotgun. It's in a case above my mantel with his last hunting liscense from Illinois in 1941. I found it tucked behind the butt plate. That gun killed a lot of rabbits.
Thats tough... For pee shooters, my Tikka T3 lite in .243 shot a 1" group at 400 yards in a lead sled. (It was the gun that did that... Not me). So i like that one Shotty (and overall fav) is my benelli SBE II that i got as a college graduation gift.
Mine would be a H&R single shot 20 gauge. It was my first gun when I was 11, killed my first deer with it as well( and missed many more ) that thing couldn't shoot slugs worth a damn lol. Hoping to give it to my son/ daughter in the future.
Tough question... probably the Ruger Red Label in 12 gauge. I broke in my first bird dog and raised my son with that gun in my hand.
No favorite.... just a few guns I like. Seems like they're all either a Browning light 12 or Remington 700 or Remington 760 Carbine.
Generally, I'd say my Ithaca Deerslayer II in 20 gauge. My first gun was the Deerslayer that I used of my dads, and I liked it so much my Grandpa had me do some chores and help with firewood, then surprised me with a Deerslayer of my own
Although... after thinking about it.. maybe the Winchester Model 1886 octagon barreled 40-65 that was my Great grandfathers.+ I got to start thinking about what is to become of it when I'm gone. I already gave away my most treasured keep sakes... like a pre 64 Model 12, ventilated rib and French Walnut stock to nephews, another Remington 700 etc.. .
I don't have a single gun I like the most, it's really pretty even between three of them. First is a Remington 700 in .270. I've had it since I was 16, and I've killed a TON of deer with it. I worked my butt off to pay for it when I was a kid, and have since done a lot of work to the gun. I'm hoping to send it to Hart to have a stainless match grade barrel put on it this summer. Pretty much all of my best deer hunting memories (with a gun) involved that rifle, and it's priceless to me because of that. Second is a Mauser 3000 in 30-06. The day my wife and I got home from our honeymoon, my father in law gave me the rifle. Said he always wanted a son to give it to and he finally got one. The gun is amazing, the bolt feels like it's on ball bearings, and he completely refinished the stock so it looks brand new. I won't even hunt with the gun, it's too pretty and it means too much to me for it to get scratched and banged up. Last is my Dan Wesson Guardian. Nothing sentimental about the gun, but it's just gorgeous and fun to shoot. It was my first handgun, and this is one I won't be selling in the future, I hope my great grandkids have this one someday.
my favorite rifle is my Sako trg 42 338 lapua magnum. my favorite handgun is a tough call, it is a tie between my 1911 colt gold cup and my 4.2 inch Smith and Wesson 686. neither can compete with my Walther GSP for accuracy but I just love them so much.
All you knuckleheads who didnt post pictures need your man cards revoked! 4 pages without pictures! I must have died and gone to hell. Remington 870 Super Mag for a long gun...adding a scope this season.
I dont think I have any picture of mine. I have a feeling when I get one of them 870s itll be high on my list also.
Savage Model 111 Trophy hunter XP 25-06 with Nikon scope. I love the way it shoots, feels and it's a light gun too.
I'd add a photo if the attachment uploader deal would work. Instead it pops up the Mathews webpage...
