This aspect of movies is SO insignificant to ME........that the only one I can name off my list would be Stallone!....lol
Darren Aronofsky - The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream, Pi: Faith in Chaos, The Fountain Akira Kurosawa - Legendary Japanese director most known for films such as Rashomon, The Seven Samurai (my favorite), and Kurosawa. Guy Ritchie - Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Sherlock Holmes John Hillcoat - The Proposition and The Road Danny Boyle - Slumdog Millionaire, Sunshine, 28 Days Later, Trainspotting Christopher Nolan - Memento (one of my favorites of all time), Batman Begins, The Prestige, The Dark Knight
Quentin Tarantino Christopher Nolan David Lynch Martin Scorsese Coen Brothers Wachowski Brothers David Fincher Guy Ritchie
Ha...that's not a name that I thought I would see in this thread. Eraserhead and Inland Empire seriously freak with your mind.
This is equivalent to asking me what brand eraser I prefer on the end of my pencil. I don't know/care really, lol. I have favorite actors but couldn't (being honest) care less about who was behind the scenes of the movie
I look at it the opposite way... The actors are a HUGE part, yes. But the people behind the movie are everything.
I'm sure for the actual storyline they are, I'm just saying I don't ever pay attention to who is behind the scenes. Out of my top 10 favorite movies, I couldn't name a single one of their directors. lol
I couldn't sleep last night because I forgot to add Noah Baumbach to my list of favorite directors. He has directed Kicking and Screaming (no, not the crappy Will Ferrell movie), The Squid and The Whale, Margot at the Wedding, and is working on Greenberg for this year. Also, Mel Gibson knows how to make movies as well.
Clint Eastwood has directed some great movies too. But otherwise I don't pay a whole lot of attention.
