Well, I loved my Strother SX Rush for the past 5 seasons, until I went and finally shot the Mathews Halon 32, which I should be getting hopefully this week coming. Smoothest bow I ever shot, cannot wait to get my hands on it!!
For me it depends on the situation. My Elite Synergy is my favorite for hunting and 3d when using a sight and release. It has a great balance between smooth draw, easy hold, and efficient speed/power. Plus the solid back wall can't be beat when using a release. I also enjoy shooting my old Jennings Reliant. I find it more enjoyable now that I turned down the draw weight and set it up for finger shooting and bow fishing. It has a back wall that has just enough give to make it great for fingers. With my Arena 34 it was love at first sight! I love the riser design! It shoots great also. I've been shooting a vegas 3 spot league (for the first time) with it and have been getting 270 &279. I'm happy for a first! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Now its my Elite E32. Next in line would be a 2008 bowtech Guardian. That I've owned.... I enjoy the Prime Rize and Centroid also but have never owned one. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I have owned a Hoyt, Mathews, and now an Elite. Elite is hands down my favorite. It'll take a lot to get me to switch out of this bow - Elite Emerge.
Staghorn recurve made in Merril Wi back in late 60,s early 70,s---was the smoothest easiest shooting recurve I ever tried, shot my first buck with it, sold it to buy my first compound,, should have kept it
I have owned a lot of bows over the years. I think my favorite is my Matthews HTR. And this is coming from a Hoyt guy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have to say elite is a very shoo-table bow but I would have to go back to my Bear Legion, I don't know why but that thing to me was so nice but I am loving my Halon now!
boy been a lot of bows. some terrible ( bear whitetail II). my favorite was a bow I had in the late 90's maybe it was early 2000's can't remember exactly but it was the Martin speedfire superlite. that was one of the first compact speed bows built for hunting. wish I had it back. I was fooled thinking that newer was better and dummy me traded it in for newer.lol
Obsession, Fussion 6. Not only is this bow one of smoothest bows I've ever shot, it's very quiet, and dead in the hands. It's also a tank that can be put through hell and still perform like new. Mine has fallen out of a tree stand and (sad to say) was dry fired by a friend of mine. I was so mad. But after taking it into the shop, getting it re-strong, checked for cracks and made sure the cams were still in line, it shot and performed just as it did when it was new. I haven't had any issues with it sense, can and even took a whitetail with it last season. I plan on staying with obsession. JP
Can't remember the model; but I had a Golden Eagle, 70# draw in Mossy Oak Bottomland made in maybe 93 that screamed and spit tacks (literally- 3" overdraw) that I used for hunting and 3D. I LOVED that bow except the magnesium riser would absorb cold like no other and freeze your hand like dipping into nitrous oxide. And it weighed about 85#. I really love my current Z7x also. Just butter smooth on the draw and ridiculously/consistently accurate. 65# shooting 31" 495gr arrows and I use 1 pin out to 35 yards. Crazy flat shooting. Very quiet. Short ATA makes it a dream in close cover, a pop up blind, and in the stand. And it's just heavy enough that it doesn't feel like a plucked bass string on the shot. There may be better bows out there (looking at you Halon 32) but I haven't owned one yet. Back wall could be a bit stiffer but that's my only complaint and best of all I picked her up 1 season used for $550.
