Some personal favorites movie wise are Se7en, The Godfather 1 & 2, Batman Begins, The Dark Night, Aliens, Wedding Crashers & Old School. I tried to include a flick or 2 from different genres.
Shows: Man vs. Wild, Survivorman, Dirty Jobs, NFL, WWE Monday Night Raw, Forensic Files, Unsolved Mysteries, Reba Movies: Anything involving vacation horror movies...i.e. camping movies where the couple gets stalked or whatnot. I like bigfoot movies, anything involving a haunted house, zombie movies, or anything with some action. Actors: Will Smith, Matthew McCaughnahey, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, Vin Diesel, Sylvester Stallone, Steve Austin, Jackie Chan (all-time favorite) Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell, that guy from Step Brothers that starred in it with him.
Actors/Actresses: Sean Connery, Daniel Craig, Liam Neeson, Rodney Dangerfield, Clint Eastwood, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Beckinsale Movies: Star Wars (4-6 theatrical releases none of this new crap or remakes), Fan Boys, Tombstone, 300, Heartbreak Ridge, Full Metal Jacket, Highlander, Conan the Barbarian, Falling Down, Van Helsing, Beyond the Lighted STage TV Shows: 24, Star Trek Next Generation, Biggest Loser (though, losing interest), Hill Street Blues, Black Sheep Squadron, Rat Patrol, Gunsmoke, Dukes of Hazzard (Don't have subscriber TV so none is listed)
Seeing other posts are reminding me of movies/actors/etc. that I like, but didn't list. Star Wars definitely should have been on my list. I've been a fanatic since I was about 7.
When I was still in training for collegiate sports, I'd watch movies like The Rundown, Pumping Iron and Conan the Barbarian and other adrenaline flicks before I went to bed. It was kind of my mental preparation to get up at the butt crack of dawn and get myself motivated. Watching the rock beat the tar out of people at the beginning of the Rundown is a blast. You see the Charles Bronson movie he did? He's hardcore crazy in the film. He kicked rear in Inception as well. Can't wait to see how he does as Bane in the next Batman release or as Mad Max in that remake.
Of course, that movie is the reason he is on the list of guys that I would get angry if my wife did not have sex with them if giving the opportunity.
