I want to commit to a new bow, but they are all so similar (and expensive!). I am considering the 82nd, X-Force GX, and Monster. My gut tells me to stay away from their "Freak" brothers (Monster XLR8R and X-Force Omen UF) because they could be a chore to shoot. However, i need to see some side-by-side comparisons (conducted by an UNBIAS, third party) before I rule them out too soon. I really want to make my choice. This actually keeps me up at night! Anyone know of any reviews on these bows or any feedback from customers??

I can tell you that I really liked that X-Force, I also liked the Bowtech bows. Right now I am just waiting on the Air Raid bow to come out so I can make my final decision. It's supposedly a very fast, and forgiving bow. I also really dug the Alpha Max by Hoyt.

    - How was that for unbiased?

Yes sir. If you go to the web page. They hid the bow. you have to use the drop down menu. If you just click on new 09 bows. They don't show it.
Word is that it will be out in a month. And it is worth the wait.

Really, we can sit here and give our recommendations and opinions, but at the end of the day, they're just that...opinions. Every bow feels/shoots a little different to each person. Get to as many shops as possible and shoot them. Go with personal feel. I haven't shot the X-Force, nor have I shot a monster (not many people have as it's slow to reach dealers right now). I've shot the 82nd, and personally own the 101st. I love both bows, and if you're a bit of a longer draw archer, you could do well with the 101st, as you will gain a little BH over the 82nd, and still be putting out great speed. They're both great shooters, but then again, you might shoot a 101st or 82nd and not like it, so that's why it's important to try as many as you can before you buy.

Thanks guys! For the record im a 29 inch (then add a loop) and i am willing to buy an 80 pounder and knock it down to say 75. This has some impact on me because i dont believe that bowtech offers 80 lbs. Anyway, im just going to have to wait and see.

Actually the Air Raid is offered in 65 Max, 75 Max, and 85 Max limbs.

That is correct! and good to know. Still confused though, and probably will be until I start shooting some of these dragons. Say, any of you know anyone who shot an APA?? They look ugly/cool - very curious

Shoot em all! But I will have to say that you won't be dissapointed w/the Bowtech. When I bought my bow, I shot about 10 brands of bows, and alot of models. As for Bowtech, I shot 3 of their models and got the Tribute. You need to do the same. Shoot them all and then break down to a couple of models. Then choose which "feels" right to you.

I've never been able to locate an APA dealer near me, so I've never shot one, but on paper, their specs of the Black Mamba XL and the Python X look attractive to me. If you can get over their hideousness, I bet they're real shooters.
