~1.5mile hike in but not to a stand as its public. Most are < 1 mile, with my favorite ~250 yds. -Bill
Depending on if I want to hop a fence or walk to the gate probably anywhere in between 3/4 mile to mile to farthest stand. Maybe 200 yards to shortest.
1.9 miles to the stand according to my maps app. It mostly trail that the conservation gets to drive their trucks down and its all flat so I can't complain to much. Private land is 15min hike.
There are 4 of us that hunt national forest land, mine is the shortest, about 3/8 of a mile, my brother goes in the farthest, about 3/4 mile, the other 2 guys are spread out between us.
Where I live now maybe a mile at most. Growing up in Missouri it wasn't uncommon to hike 3 to 5 miles.
I have a few spots that are over a mile in. If I'm taking a climber I wheel it in on my deer cart, that way if I whack one I save myself a trip to the truck, and save my back
Regardless of distance I have found the longest walk is in the dark back to the truck in freezing or cold wet weather
I've had a few public spots that were close to 2 miles. I didn't make that trek but a time or two a year.
