15+ hurt. Reminds me of the wreck at Charlotte about 10-15years ago, but it was an Indy car into the stands. Tragic.
My Bro in law's F/B post "Last nite at the truck race we were sitting at the Start/Finish line thought the view sucked so we moved to the exit of pit row for the Nationwide race, ever believe in the power above, for some reason he told Karen and myself sit further down and I will protect you if you believe in me.......well as I write this all I can think of is Karen and myself are safe and well and we pray for the others that have been injured that they will be alright! Tomorrow we sit in the back stretch and again pray for a safe race for drivers and fans."
NASCAR condones the bump and rub mentality and this time it hurt the people that it's trying to lure in.
Speed and the wrong bounce will rip a car apart something whicked. I was on the front row seat once for an auto going airborne, doing several barrel rolls and coming to rest upside down 15 feet in front of my car. 'The minute I saw the car coming down this mountain in WVa I knew it was going to be bad. I was on an interstate going east, the other vehicle was in the West bound lanes, lost control, over corrected and the car catapulted into a lot of pieces from the roadway 30 feet above my lanes. The car would do 3 or 4 barrel rolls and bounce again and do some more rolls. One dead and I dragged the survivor out through the back window after crawling in and undoing her seat belt allowing her to fall to the roof of the upturned car. I'll never forget how that car just disintegrated. I locked my brakes and had tires go flying by. Gas fumes everywhere...blood every where. I had several bottles of water in the car and washed off the blood with them. Ugly mess. The dead person in the car got her head popped like a pimple between the door frame and the ground when the car stopped rolling. Brain matter everywhere.
