I have met quite a few in my life. The 88 Lakers in a bar in Atlanta, Michael Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Paul Rodriguez, a lot of the Charlotte Hornets. I have only asked for one autograph. I asked Mugsy Bogues to sign something for my son. We were both checking into the Marriott in downtown Charlotte years ago and he was standing behind me. I met Bill Cowhers in the Whole Food Market last year. I shook his hand and told him I enjoyed watching him coach. He said thanks and not to draw any attention to him. I said ok and we went our way. Someone else noticed him and they were all wired up and ran up to him. He eventually left the store.
I would not impose upon their privacy. I think acknowledging in some form or fashion and go on about your business.
I met philip vanderpool once, just walked up said hello and talked for a little bit then left,he was very friendly
I dont bother celebrities....like Ace Ventura once famously uttered,"Why do you care about Snowflake? Do you know him? Does he call you at home? Do you have a dorsal fin? To train the dolphin, you must think like the dolphin! You must be getting unside the dolphins head...." They dont know me so I really dont need to talk with them for any reason.
Well if y'all see me in public just offer me a beer, and a sandwich. I will sign anything you want me to sign for a beer. Now throw me a sandwich as well and you've got me. I don't mind selfies or photos. I've kept my star status pretty low key for the most part. My kids think I'm superman, and I tell my wife I have the looks of Brad Pitt IMHO. Sorry for sorta hijacking the thread, but I couldn't help my self. If you saw me you would LYAO trust me.
I've only seen a few. I just do a double take so they know I recognized them and then ignore them. I feel like I gave them some peace and quiet to appreciate. Makes me feel good and besides, what would I talk with any of them about anyway.
Similar to this but instead of hello... I would tell them to get out of my way and quit blocking the isle. :P Tim
I would say hi to Justin and pat him on the back... and then follow him for a little bit to make sure the " I am a Dork !!! " sign stuck to his back. Tim
I would kick Justin square in the nuts. Then I can read his posts about the incident, sit here and giggle. That would be awesome
I would leave them alone, I'm not the type to be starstruck anyway and I assume they like their privacy as much as I like mine.
This is really a great question. Over the years and especially when I used to live in Dallas I ran into countless celebrities from athletes, actors to musicians. Some I would talk to some I never said a word to. After talking with a lot of them I found that most don't seem to mind if the situation is right. To stop a celebrity in a crowded store or location and say something within ear shot of other people seems to bother them a lot. If you run into them when no one else is around they seem to be much happier to talk and say hi to you. Seems they don't want all the attention and if you are in a crowded store they no one is saying anything to them they are just fine but soon as one person says something the flood gates seem to open and everyone wants a piece.
Well we typically don't like to be bothered by you peasants.. Haha just kidding! Living in Monroe I see the DD guys all the time but I tend to try and avoid them. Not bad people but let's just say I'm not a fan.. Oh and FEB- be sure to get that on film! I'll be waiting in the meantime
Hmmmmm..............ok, no sense in repeating what everyone else has said. We all have to remember they are just people like us. Only their whole lives are in the lime light. Leave em be! Hand shake and hello is plenty. (Crap! I did it anyway)
