I have a tag but only if one walks by me while bow hunting. WE used to fall hunt it can be fun but the spring is way more fun in my opinion :D Good Luck !

Do you bust em up and call em back ? ?

turkey is the same as deer season here so i will be doing both. our tags are just listed as big game so if the season is right, it is ok to use it

if i have a deer down before season comes in i will go out, it only lasts about a week and i have a tag. Might as well go smack a hen and remove the competition for spring

I'm in the same boat as gutone4me. I have a tag, and if one comes by while I'm bowhunting, well..... it may be in trouble.

    Ditto
Get tags and feathers will fly if have the chance.
Been told they will never aproach up hill burm etc....always going down!!!
Seems to be true they get to a point & turn every time coming up to me.
If I get in and they are out feeding in the field.
Then its Game on if they come my way but that seems to be my story.
If I Ninja Warrior in....good to go!
    :ninja:
Always!!!! look first before entering....on the evening hunt!

Has anyone found this to be true?

I have been out twice saw a group saturday but nothing Sunday. I'm not pushing hard though as I can hunt until the 21st of October and its a good way to perk up a slow day deer hunting if a Turkey walks by so I'm not in a hurry to burn my tag. They aren't talking when they hit the ground and not responding to calls either.

I get two turkey tags with my deer tags, so if they walk by and I can get a shot off, I'll let one have it. Food is food! I actually packed a few calls this year. They talk quite a bit where I'm at, and lately with all the rain it's the only way I know they're there.

Guys do yourselves a favor for next spring and shoot hens in the fall :tu:

In my opinion fall should be beardless birds only. Gotta control the hen population sometime :D

That being said I get a whack at a tom while I am bowhunting I take it

Darn turkeys came and roosted in the tree next to my stand last night when I was in it and i forgot about them till this morning when the scared the crap out of me in the dark. Got to wait till Oct 1 for me then I can take 4 while deer hunting.

we scout them early and see where they move in and out of food sources. we set up accordingly. i target acorn digs all of the fall season and dusting area in the early season. use decoys and light calling.
