I didn’t see a single deer today, but then again I was fishing. Caught some nice fish though. One 13 lbs and one 11 lbs. Great day on the water.
5" of Snow overnight and into this morning. Makes it nice for being able to see far. I only saw 7 does/fawns this evening.
Happy New Year guys! It's a cold day in GA! Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
So I know some states archery seasons have already ended. Who still has a season left along with some tags? Our season in PA ends on Jan. 13th and I still have 2 tags left but I can't add anymore points because of my Ohio entries.
I am officially done for the year. I’m sorry I couldn’t get 2 deer down guys. After killing two bucks and a bear last year I should have known this year would be tough. No matter how it ends up it was still a good time and a pleasure to be on a team with you guys. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
No need to be sorry Kern. You put a doe on the board and for that we are pleased. I was just curious who still had a season left that may be able to still tag one.
12 more days left here. Still after a buck, but it's coming down to the wire. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I have lots of tags left. Totally I can shoot 2 more bucks in Texas, another two in Arkansas, and 3 more does in Arkansas. Texas archery/general season ends this Sunday but I will be hunting the late muzzleloader season here now week when it opens up. Arkansas archery season doesn’t end until February 26 so we will see when I stop bowhunting! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Wow, I guess you do still have some tags left along with a pretty long extended season. I thought the Ohio Archery season was long going out the first Saturday in February. Good Luck Aaron.
Sorry I’ve been absent from the discussion lately. It’s been dangerous cold here, so I’ve been cooped up in the house. Plus all the snow. I have a total of 5 tags left for all seasons combined (archery, firearm, muzzleloader) but I’m tagged out for the contest. It looks like it should be staying at reasonable temperatures for the last two weekends of the season, so I’m going to try to get back out.
I always enjoyed hunting in IL. The only state I've hunted other than MD that you could take a Buck in Archery and Firearms seasons. Ohio and PA are both 1 buck states. Not that it matters much this year in PA, because I haven't seen a buck worth harvesting. The last year I hunted IL was in 2001 after that the non-resident fees went through the roof.
It's been unusually cold for GA this year. I think it was warmer the other day in Anchorage, AK than it was here. I can't remember the last deer season where it has been this cold. I think it has the deer moving very little, and it is getting into the last week of the season. These deer have been pressured for a few months now. I have seen a total of 3 deer in the last 3 days. I've seen more gobblers than I have deer this week. I'm starting to look forward to March and chasing birds in somewhat warmer temps.
So is this the last week of your season or is it next week? I hear you about chasing gobblers. I really enjoy going out in the spring gobbler season, especially if I can take one with my crossbow.
I've got this weekend and all of next week until season ends. I'm going in the morning hoping for a miracle it seems. Turkey season is looking nicer after all this cold weather. I find myself thinking about possible setups for the spring season while deer hunting. I'm gonna try to stay focused on the deer until season ends, but it's getting tough. Hey guys, I've been hunting in Oklahoma the past few days. A buddy came down from Wyoming so we could do some hog hunting and he took one on Thursday evening. We also deer hunted a bit but didn't have any luck. I have until the 15th although I've already contributed two deer to the contest. I have 4 doe and two buck tags and will likely hunt one or two more days. Spent today fishing and we caught 7 nice stripers with an average of 6 lbs each. After the season is over, I plan to do a great deal of scouting the area I hunt. It is public land and has about 8,000 acres I haven't seen yet. It also gives me an opportunity to run cameras and see what deer made it through the season. No better time for me to learn an area than when all the leaves are off the trees and I can find bedding areas. It's been an honor and a pleasure to share this hunting season with you guys. Thank you all for taking part and sharing your season with each of us. I'll be watching the thread until the end and will catch you guys on the forum throughout the year. Take care fellas.
My season here in PA ends this Saturday. I'm still not seeing any bucks which is very unusual. I guess the Orange Brigade shot them all during Rifle Season.
A couple of nice bucks entered yesterday. Definitely shows that they are still out there and can be taken with Archery equipment.
