In again this afternoon with the smoke pole. It got cold this week, so hopefully they’ll be moving more. But, bad news getting to my stand today. The crazy wind we’ve been having here in northern Illinois lately has made a bunch of small to medium trees turn into deadfall. I don’t know how much they are able to move back here.
Well had a doe at 20 tonight. First deer I’ve had an opportunity to shoot all season not counting South Dakota. Got busted reaching for my bow. Usually have my bow in my lap but I can’t have my hands out of my hand muff in these temps for much more than 30 seconds. I was shaking like a leaf when she left so good to know I still get excited. Pretty bummed I couldn’t come through though. Sorry guys. I’ll be out a few more times yet. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
That was a first for me forgetting my boots! Lol I usually always grab them but it slipped my mind this morning. I was too excited to use the mountain bike to bike into the public land spot this morning. It was a success. But it will be even better when I get my bike rack in so that I don’t have to carry it all in on my back and let the bike carry some of the load. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
That’s ok. I showed up to a deer drive one time in stocking feet. When my buddies showed up to pick me up I ran out n jumped in the truck. I was going to grab my boots on my way out. I forgot. Ended up borrowing some ones shoes who was two sizes smaller. Not even sure how my feet got in them. So could be worse? Haha Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Sat all day on Friday. 14 degrees and not a deer. Went to a buddy’s place on Saturday and saw two young bucks and 10 does.... and also this 250lb sow. How many points do we get for a pig?
Now that’s a pig!!! I have a few where I am at. I’m trying to catch up to one of them too! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Uneventful this morning in property 1 yet again. I did pick up something to make my public land hunting a little easier. Got it, 40# minnkota trolling motor, and two seats for it for $375. Still have to get it registered, a battery, and a few other things. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I have been looking for something like it for a while until I found a very good deal. I'm excited to use it! It may not be this season, but it will help with scouting and next season for sure. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
