I need one of those too. Is there a good brand for one? Or are they kind of universal? I got away without one bear hunting because you know where the bear is going to end up (the bait) but deer hunting they come from any where and go any where so it’s much more difficult. It sucks big time without having the LANC. I wouldn't know what to do if I had one. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I can tell you from experience that GoPro’s don’t like the cold. I can usually get almost 3 hours of long use out of mine in summer. That dives to about 1 hour per battery after it gets below 40.
I believe I have the varizoom stealth varizoom. It is great middle of the pack one. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive. So far I am really happy with it other than the focus. I have to mash the button for it to register Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Below 40?!?! Thats like early October temps! Haha. But good to know. I have two batteries for my G20 I could just keep swapping but the action cams are a different story. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Do you run your camera in manual? Can you run it in auto with a remote? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I do run it on manual. But it’s called like assisted manual or something. It helps me get what I want in focus but without focusing on near things. It’s hard to explain. But I like manual, with the focus ring on the camera it is extremely easy to get it focused where needed Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I wonder if they have the same for the G20. Ok sorry for all the camera talk. When you aren’t seeing deer you need something to talk about. Back to trying to kill deer haha. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Mine died in about 2hrs today at 50 degrees, but it wasn't fully charged. I also have a back up battery for it. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It’s going to depend a little bit on what housing and back roof you use, the more fully enclosed the more it has it’s own environment. But overall, they don’t like below the 45/50 mark. They really freak out when it gets in close range of 0, that was fun.
Back at it! This is probably going to be the last sit for a while, so I don’t know how much use I’ll be after today. Had an encounter with a little forkie last night that, for contest purposes, I’m happy I didn’t get a shot at. But it would have made the freezer happy, so I’m also a little bummed.
I feel your pain. I'm back at it too. Already heard gun shots all around me this morning. Haven't seen anything yet but squirrels. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
It’s not even 8:00 and I’ve already had 3 close encounters. Just not close enough to shoot with a bow. A little 5 point came in behind me about half an hour after getting in the stand, and two does just ran off after the stand squeaked. Need to rehang this thing so it actually sits flush. I’m also almost completely through one GoPro battery. Good thing I have 2 more.
I'm not sure what's going on this season at this property. It's been extremely slow compared to last. Hardly any pictures of deer on cam, and I've only seen a handful since September 9th. Maybe the neighbors are cutting them off before they get here now. I'm thinking it's going to be a midday scout when I climb down. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Oh no! I went away from the foot warmers. I found they made my feet sweat because they were too hot. Then they wouldn’t last long because they need air to keep activated. So I’d be stuck with sweaty feet and no warmers. Recipe for cold feet. Best thing for me has been a heavy merino wool sock and a 2000g insulated rubber boot. Then trying to go slow enough on the way in so my feet wouldn’t sweat. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
