I seen 2 yesterday at another property I haven't been to all season. Went and hung a stand, and 5 minutes of walking back across the field, they came out right by my stand. I was surprised because it was almost 80 degrees and I was sweating bad. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Never be surprised. First time I ever tried bow hunting hung a stand at my uncles on a got Oct. Day. Talking screw in steps and all. Took me 3 hours to get it hung. Back when your safety harness was a loop that went around your chest and tied to the tree. Anygiw was drenched in sweat and uncle asked me if I was going to hunt, I said they probably wouldn't move through all the racket and sweat I made. He said wouldn't matter. Went back down and climbed up, sure enough about 5pm a doe and two fawns hipped the fence and browsed about 12 yds in front of me. I was absolutely unable to move my heart was racing and body shaking. I would have shot the neighbors cow in the ass and they're a good 3 miles due north
This is the property, but the pics are from last season. No corn this year just hay. The little back area hasn't been touched and it's fairly thick with grasses and thorns. Couple of fresh rubs and scrapes too. This buck was taken by another guy that had permission to hunt last season. I personally would have let him walk, and that's another reason why I haven't been there. Found out he's no longer allowed to hunt (gun hunter), because the landowner said no more gun hunting. Maybe this place will produce some good bucks in the future. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Damn, thought we had another one down lol. Hey guys, if going out in the morning and you use your phone or self adjusting clock for an alarm, don't forget to adjust your alarms ahead one hour for the time change tonight.
I'm thinking about going for an evening sit tomorrow over there. Never know what may show up. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Thank you. Everyone has this misconception that I kill these giants on thousands of acres. I hunt small chunks in very pressured areas. Where I kill The biggest deer in that area almost every year. The 2 properties nextt to me will have 5 guys out a night. Key is letting everyone else hunt stupid and push that deer to you on a property where him and does always feel safe Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
The woods are finally quieting down for me. There must have been 100k black birds in the trees making so much noise. Not to mention two guys riding 4 wheelers out in fields. Our woods are torn up with runs and scrapes. Fingers crossed this hit comes by. Heck I'd take a doe at this point. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
First sit at property 2 was a success. Didn't get a deer, but I seen a good one. Nice 120"-130" 9 point skirted just inside the thick privet at 30yds. Never had a shot and it was in the last 10mins of shooting light. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
This is the area on the back of the big field that I hunted this evening. The red line is where the buck came through. I can really only hunt here with an easterly wind, and it's not looking like we are going to get another for a week or so. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Funny story, I had a spike and another buck grunting chasing a small doe around me tonight. When I got down and started walking out I heard a deer grunting and coming behind me. I stopped, turned and waited. I did not have my head lamp on so it was pretty dark. Next thing I know this buck is about 5 passes away and still coming. I turned the head lamp on and this little 6 pointer looked like he saw a ghost. Needless to say he snorted while he ran away but it was pretty cool.
