Well I cut my hunting trip short by a day. I seen more hunters than deer and most had no common courtesy. I did see 2 big does, but you were only allowed to shoot a buck. I also caught myself trying to set up for bowhunting all while carrying my 308. Anyway I had a good time hanging around camp with friends, but it also reminded me why I archery hunt. Seems we have a little more respect for our fellow hunters. I will probably go back out with it later in the season, but for bear in the mountains.

I got out yesterday afternoon/evening, only saw 2 doe. Had one of them at 20yrds, but that's buck bait. :tu:

B2H, that's a nice buck/mount! Is that piece of wood part of the mount? I think that buck should be in a spot of it's own. There's too much going on there. jmo

That little adjustment made a big difference. Looks good.

I was out Wednesday morning and saw 2 does too far to shoot. I'm liking my odds of getting a doe down in that area. I will probably hit that area harder in mid-late November. It sounds like during rifle season (Nov. 4-Nov. 19) a lot of deer get pushed in to town, so that sounds promising. Also sat Thursday morning and evening, didn't see anything. Leave for South Dakota Friday. Getting packed up and getting more excited by the day. Time to get some more deer on the ground!

I like the adjustment you made. Looks like that buck invaded your turkey territory. Looks great and he's a beauty.

Kern, Good luck in SD. Hope you have a great hunt there. I think it's about to be ON!

With the changes it looks great. :tu: I was wondering what the stars represent? I sometimes see them on the sides of houses.

No hunting when I got back. Rear end of my jeep went out, so the last two days have been spent fixing it. Probably make it out this week since we got lows in the 40s coming.

I finally saw a decent buck in Ohio this past weekend. It was a 3.5 year old 9 point. G2's and 3's were nice and long but the brows were only about 1.5". He walked right in front of me at 17 yards. He might score 120" but I won't shoot anything younger than a 4.5 year old in Ohio. With that being said I haven't taken a buck the last 2 years because of it. Hopefully that buck don't get shot this year because by the looks of it, he should be a 140" next year. I'll see if I can find a trail cam pic of him to share.

Good for you letting him walk! I think he might even be short of 120".

I was out Sat evening and saw just 2 doe. One of them was only 20 yrds out broadside, but I already have meat in the freezer. This was in my rut hunting area, so I wouldn't have killed her anyway. The doe I took back in Sept under the white oaks was from a mile away, where it wouldn't have any real effect on this spot. I need those live decoys! :tu:

A deer like that would be rare in my areas. Kudos to you for passing him
