Looking good! I hope to be able to shoot a black bear this fall in Arkansas! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
First sit of the year (season opened Sat) gets me a nice doe. Raining white oak acorns, and they were on them! That was my only antlerless tag, so my next deer has to have a good set of antlers. I videoed this doe for a solid minute before I decided I wanted to kill her, she was maybe 5 yrds from my stand. I'll post my really poor pics on the scorecard. I had to do selfies with nobody around.
Sweet! Congrats on the doe! Do we get a video soon? Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
The video is just of her feeding under me, not the shot/kill. I'll see if I can download it off my phone.
Heck yeah, congrats!! Who cares about the pic quality, the important part is you have them This team is on fire and my season has yet to open. I think I will be out there opening morning, really getting that itch thanks to you guys and early successes
Rough glance once JGD get his buck entered we'll be in 2nd place with 256! Not sure I've been on a team in the top 10 ever lol
I'm really looking to the 25th. Temp, pressure, and moon are going to be identical to the days I got daylight pics of the bucks I'm after. I'm hoping they repeat that same pattern as days past. Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I will say I will have limited hunting days in October. I'm getting married October the 7th ( yes, I tried very hard for it not to be in hunting season. It didn't work) then I will have a honey moon. Then I will have another wedding to go to the week after I get back. But I will get out every chance I get in that time. Come November I will be hitting it hard Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Congrats on the doe Early and to you Aaron. My son killed a nice 147 2/8 buck from the blind I was in at exactly the same distance (40 yards). The story is on the front page. He had my grandson in the blind with him. Pretty cool.
All you guys getting points up already! Awesome! I have to wait till October, unfortunately. Just sent out to dona little trimming yesterday. The path to my stand is mostly open, until you get to the last 30 yards or so. It's going to take a little bit to get back there. Thankfully there are plenty of other stands for me to use, and another one we have to hang in the next week or so.
Incredible start so far!! My brain is still in fishing mode though....Last weekend the perch were on fire on Lake Erie. I'm trying to soak up the last few weeks of boating/fishing before my mind switches over to the woods.
Congrats to everyone on their kills! Looks like we are off to a great start. Congrats on the elk hammer. That is a beautiful animal. I didn't kill on my elk hunt but still had a good time. We heard or saw elk every day. Had a bull going absolutely crazy at what we figure to be about a hundred yards but never did see him. That screaming bull was the most intense thing I've ever encountered in the woods. His bugles made the entire mountain vibrate. I'm not sure I could have made the shot if he showed up because I was shaking so hard. We were in pretty rugged terrain and it will be nice to sit in a stand soon. I got recalled for one of the city archery hunts so that gives me 4 bonus doe tags for the year. Should be getting out soon. Hope this team can stay on a roll. Good luck everyone. Well I just entered my buck. All 106 3/8" of him. Lol. I had the opportunity to hunt elk one last evening last night. Had a 5x5 bull walking in and at 60 yds the wind changed and went right at him. Elk walked away... Spent the last couple of days getting to know Levi and Samantha Morgan at my son's lodge. Very nice folks. Levi took this buck juas a couple hours after getting to the lodge.
Thanks kern! It was an incredible hunt for me too. We had bulls bugling around us everyday. We rough scored my bull @ 305 1/8. Wish we could enter that score. Lolol Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Yesterday was over 100 degrees in the shade. Today is going to be another hot one. I'm ready for a cold front! Sent from my N9518 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
