Shot a Limbdriver for years. Just switched to a Hamskea Hybrid Hunter Pro on my new bow. It's fantastic. Didn't realize what I was missing with micro adjust, and it's built like a tank.
Honestly don't do it. I switched out all three of my bows this year with 3 of the best drop always and I'm probably going to go back. Reasons. My accuracy didn't improve like I thought it would. I've had some issues with the damn cable coming loose. But my number one reason is all the padding I've had to add to my riser and bottom of my site to quiet the bow down. Very frustrating, not sure why these bows and sites don't come with padded kits. Cost me a 31lbs Osceola turkey this year. With a whisker biscuit you never have to worry about your arrow make any noise drawing or letting down. Only issue is where on the fletches. But with 3 1/2 inch narrow fletches that's not an issue either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've had no problems with either the Trophy Taker Smack Down rests or the QAD rests that I have on my bows. Solid, quiet, effective and accurate rests.
I've been using a Bowfinger Medusa Max, which is really nothing more than a better made QAD. Decided to give limb driven a shot and bought a G5 CMax. It's limb driven but also 100% full containment. I've had it 1 or 2 weeks and got about 300 shots on it. Just don't get the 1st Gen blue button but get the 2nd Gen black button.
The owner over engineers everything he builds. LOL! Bowfinger stab mounts are considered by a lot of people to be the best you can get. Everything is designed and built here in TN, which I didn't know until after I bought one. If he advertised just a bit he would own the industry. On the other hand not advertising makes the Medusa Max about $20 cheaper than a QAD HDX. If you take one apart there are no small springs and it's 100% metal except the plastic launcher arm. But, he's as big as he wants to be and he engineers other things. All of the timing is done at the rest. Some say you can do that with a QAD, I had an HDX and if you can it's a PITA and if you have to tune and twist cables you don't have to pull your cord out and untwist it. There's a few youtube videos on it from unpaid people who review archery equip, but not nearly as many as products where people are paid what to say.
Did you see the rest that was promoted here in an ad? Schafer archery has a full containment rest, looks pretty cool.
I went back to the biscuit from the quad ultra hd. Something wasn't right with it( maybe operator error) but I had it to 2 different archery shops I trust and still wasn't right. Put the biscuit on and I'm shooting better. Maybe just mental but the less moving parts the better for me. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm not biased or pushing it though, I use whatever works. I don't like how a cable driven rest alters cam timing a bit and I can feel it when pulling over the "hump." It may be perceived but it's real to me. I went to limb driven for that reason. I bought a Truglo Updraft which is a Smackdown Pro copy and a G5 CMax. Both tuned great but the Truglo bounces around until you draw and the CMax didn't have the greatest reviews. At dark I hit 400 shots on the CMax and I like how I can hit the button and it's up and full containment. Time will tell its longevity and I hope it lasts because I love it. I put both for sale on AT the day after I bought them because that cord going down to my limb I kept hitting with my thumb. But it tuned so well and I liked everything else about it. I withdrew my sale and got used to it quickly. I can set my cams timed up perfect and with no rest they hit perfectly. With the CMax they hit perfect. With cable driven my top hits almost 1/4" before the bottom. I know I can account for that but I just don't like it.
It took me a while, but I finaly switched to an NAP Apache I bought on here for $25. I figured if I didnt like it i'm not out much. I love it! I'll never go back! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I have the Trophy Ridge Revolution on my PSE and love it. I've since bought a Helim with the QAD that comes with it and have had no issues. The TR is a full capture rest and I've yet to drop an arrow out of it, good rest for the price point.
I love my QAD ultra rest, the new rest by HHA looks pretty sweet also. Sent from my SM-G920V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I installed my QAD Ultrarest today and I really like it so far. Just shot it a good bit to get my pins back sighted in. It was simple enough to install myself.
I use a QAD fall away rest. I love it. Never had any problems. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I was told to get a whisker biscuit, because I'm switching from LH to RH, and due to my lack of experience shooting RH that it would be best starting out with a WB. Was that a bad suggestion?
