Little fired up today. I bought a new Gerber knife on the e-bay in June it was new in the box, a daily carry knife small and compact. Well the screws under the grips somehow stripped so I go to the gerber website and do the warranty stuff and forgot about it. Get it back in the mail today and I get a sheet telling me that it is not a Gerber product. They want me to submit who the seller was etc. I am going to notify e-bay not sure paypal could do anything at this point.
Same thing happened to me. I have an original Outdoor Edge Kodi set and love them. I ordered a set to give away and what arrived was a cheap Chinese knockoff. I threw it in a drawer and forgot about it. I didn't have the time or patience to waste fighting about it and that's what they know will happen most of the time.
This was in a box that said gerber, and it has the gerber logo on the blade, no idea it was a fake. I notified the seller what the deal was, maybe he will send me free fake knives.
Another e-bay danger is getting a good price on arrows. I bought a dozen arrows a few years back for about half price of my local bow shop. I even had the balls to have my local bow shop cut and glue my arrows, thought I was pretty smart till I started shooting my bargain arrows. The fletching material was cheap, weak, and crap learned my lesson on saving a few $ on archery supplies that day.
