I do not post on my personal facebook page much. I do use my company page to promote contests and share pics.
I deleted my account sveral months ago. Just got tired of all of the worthless updates of people I really could care less about. also got tired of all invitations being facebooked. Here is an idea, if you want me to come to a gathering, call me. My mother got to be the worst.
I was able to catch up with people I hadn't seen in years and I do enjoy it. Plus I am a admin for the BHC facebook page so I best like it.:-) LOL@ no soup for you!
I get more out of it with my hunter friends. Nice to see what they are up too and what they are killing. Otherwise I don't waste too much time reading the daily lives of the other friends. I would block them but the wife likes reading some of their garbage. She is the smart one... she won't setup an account. She goes into mine so she can pick and choose who she wants to chat with. The rest don't pester her because they think it is me. I don't chat on face book except with a very few good friends. I ignore the rest if they want to chat. Bad enough I've got to read their stuff... not interesting in also chatting about it. It is works well for what we need... especially keeping in touch with the kids and close friends/relatives. Tim
Yeah I dont' get that either. Had a family get together not too long ago and I asked my sister in law what time everyone was supposed to be there. She had to check her facebook and then send me a text.
I'm about ready to delete my account. I rarely log on, and have only posted one or two status updates. It's rare for me to comment on anyone's page, as I dislike i because everyone can see it who's on my contact list. I'm with dmen, want me at a family function? Call or send an invite via postal. Much more personal that way. Companies that only do contests via Facebook? Dislike it. Why should I have to "friend" or "like" a company to enter a contest?
I deactivated my account a long time ago, had a number of friends, but it just got too time consuming to try to keep up with it. I know my account is still on there and I have one friend, my daughter. I check it maybe once every two months. I see her 3 times a week anyways. BTW GFY, what area from SE Wisconsin you in ?
This^^^ I like having been able to catch up with old friends or stay caught up easier with current ones. Stupid people get ignored or unfriended. I can keep up to date on things happening at places I like to visit, and products I like to use. And then there is the good old fashioned entertainment value to read down thru everyone's rants during football games. Better than the game itself!
18 year old party freak chasing woman around...pretty legit 21 year old in medic school, working full time, with a girlfriend...pretty
It's definitely a great tool for connecting with friends, marketing, etc. It is, however, exceedingly annoying to log in and have to see a news feed filled with passive aggressiveness, self pity and statuses proclaiming just how confident one is. Thank you, Mark, for the Hide button! As far as marketing though, its a great, great tool. One of my friends who sells workout programs built a Facebook fan page that now has 200,000 fans. So, any time he is markets a product, he has easy/free access too 200K potential clients!
I used to like facebook but it's getting kinda old. People are running out of interesting things to put in their status so they resort to stupid things. I just deleted a guy that was posting a picture of his supper that he cooked every night, I'm not kidding.
Perhaps you're unaware of constructive criticism? Or, are you being your typical jackass self? I'm well aware of how marketing works. The problem I have is that why should someone have to join Facebook in order to take part in a giveaway or contest from a company with their own website? I am more apt to support a company that does giveaways on their own site than that of Facebook. I know many whom refuse to take part in contests and giveaways because they don't want to create a FB account which they never will use. Given all the security and privacy issues with Facebook, why?
I don't have a problem liking a page. Like stated above it's crazy how many people are on Facebook and you can contact by having a page. Clicking like for a chance to win free stuff isn't that big of a deal to me. If I actually like the product. I will not enter any contest where I have to beg all my friends to either like my picture on someones page or they have to go like a page and tell them I sent them. In the end it is still all marketing there are pros and cons with everything :D
