Facebook can use your photo in ads under new policy - JSOnline Facebook is proposing new changes to its policies that will allow Facebook to use your name, profile photo and content in ads without compensation. The proposed update is set to go into effect in about a week, in September. Thoughts?
I'v been long considering closing my account anyway. This may be a reason to do it or if nothing else treating it like a profesional network having 1-2 pictures and very limited info.
I've always been perplexed by the people who are worried about privacy on a website they voluntarily go to on which the whole idea of the website is to make public your photos and life events for others to see. Why even join Facebook if you are worried about others seeing the content?
I agree with this. People sure do seem to be all riled up about it though. I think they think that it should be priviate only to their friends? I don't know.
