On almost all of the BHOD videos, I see the guys using face paint.

    Is it beneficial?

I typically wear a face mask, but facepaint, if necessary, might be nice for early fall hunts.

    Thoughts?

Totally personal preference. It takes a little bit of practice to get used to shooting with a mask.
In my opinion, "Carbomask" is the best face paint.

I prefer a very light face mask during early season and later in about October or November I'll put one of the spandex snowmobile face masks under my light one. I can't stand a big bulky face mask because it throws my anchor off and I don't think I'll be able to hit what I'm aiming at.

Well, I already have the beard, so I guess I'm good. :D

    Thanks.

I personally feel that face paint is pretty silly, but to each their own I guess. I will wear a thin face mask at times, but typically it's just to keep the cold wind off my face.

Personal preference as mentioned before. I don't like bowhunting with a mask at all. It influences my ability to pick up sounds and correct anchor position. I use face paint depending on my cover in the tree which I'm in or what time of day I'm in my stand. I often refrain from using anything, purely because most face paints are not 100% scent free and that's a dealbreaker for me.

I honestly don't think it matters much if you are in a tree. I typically wear a face mask but if it is warm I'll go without. As long as your not moving, I don't think it matters. Hunting out of a ground blind might be a different story though.

I use face paint because my face looks like a white tail up in the tree lol. Unless it's super cold I don't wear a mask cause I feel it restricts my hearing and sometimes visibility.

I'm a face paint type for cheeks and around eyes...I wear a hat or a thick wool facemask with face cut out for colder weather.

I am a carbomask kinda guy as well for the brand now after trying it this year.

I wear the face paint. Just stocked up on it after Halloween. Big tubes of green, brown, and black. $0.99 cents a tube vs. $7.99 for the "hunting" stuff. Today's stuff washes right off compared to the stuff of days of old.

I agree that its personal preference. But I did learn a few years back that the paint will take the shine from the sun off your face. We hunted a duck spot and I was in a wedding later that day. I hate mask so opted not to wear any paint. We would work some birds for a bit then they would just flare. A buddy across the slough called me and asked who the idiot was glowing. lol Then I painted up and we ended up killing a limit. So in my opinion it does help for glare.

Not necessary, maybe if you hunt super high pressure deer it might help if they looked up but I have had many a deer look at me no paint or mask and as long as they don't smell me or I move they just go about their business. Its just overkill really, maybe in a ground bling it covers your white face up a bit but a mask is much easier to remove

Been there, done that.... I don't deal with that mess. If I feel I need coverage, it would be a face mask, and a tight fitting one at that. One thing I would point out though, is that I like to wear a black facemask in a blind, since the white face does stick out. I've seen that first hand, and ground level.
