I use a face mask. This year I will be changing to a skin tight type or face paint. I haven't decided yet. May just get both and try them both out. Durring the cold months I will were my beenie and neck warmer that has ear warmers built in. It covers up to the bridge of my nose and the beenie covers down to my eye brows. pretty flexible when heated from walking to the stand.

I was taught in basic training that the reason to wear face camo was to A) break up the outline of such things as your nose, ears and lips and B) to cut down on the shiny oils in your skin. Even black people need to wear face paint because even though they have dark skin, that doesn't mean they don't have oils on their face. I would have to assume that the real reason you don't get busted with a face mask on is your face is no longer visible and therefore the oils are no longer visible. Just my thoughts.

even if they are color blind, cant they tell the difference between colors? and there isnt much in the woods that is white...so wouldnt it stand out like a red flag does to us?

and yes the reflection/ shinyness is a big deal too.

thats what i meant by that. of course they cant say "hey thats yellow, and thats red"
but they can tell the difference between brown and white, and green and red because they would look brighter or darker....
oh well i dont want to get into the "what can deer see" no one will ever know exactly what they see until we can literally look through the eyeballs of a deer and see what they see. until then its just science and myths, and beliefs.

I wasnt saying that to get anyone all wound up, poking fun. It was just kind of funny how you wrote it out. But I believe you are correct on the current colors being different shades, but even then I don't know which ones would be "brighter" to them. All I know is no matter what is determined by scientists I'm still going to wear as much camo as I can.

I wear a tight fitted facemask and i love it for anchor point advantage and it's comfort.

I want to try facepaint out but I tend to do a lot of running around after hunts taking care of stuff and I am afraid of not being able to find a paint that I could remove easy without taking a portable bathhouse with me?

I will have to look at the camo fx and carbomask but is there anymore out there to look at?
