I spent the weekend chasing the local atv's off my ground and at one point it was a 4 guys and one of me in a heated yelling match and almost came to blows,

They tore up the my river ground and drove thru my bean field.
first degree treespass, violation of the stream act, property crop damage

The real problem is i called the cops four times in two days and they did not show up any of the four times, last time i called i told the operator about my crop damage and that i wanted the game agent to call me about a hour later a deputy sheriff calls me and i told him my situation he told me they only had 3 deputys on duty and they were to busy to get to me i asked why the gw didnt call me and he said they wont be able to get to it until tuesday after the holiday, Thing is in the winter when there was snow on the ground i have the agent come out and told him to follow the track up the house with the atv's and hand out the some tickets he told me that he could not because he didnt catch them riding them on my ground??? Is this because people dont want to do there jobs? I have tried the cops and the gw with no luck.

sunday i spent the day cutting trees down over the trails they cut coming onto my ground and putting up purple paint on trees.

until someone gets shot the cops just dont care and i have been told before that they wont come out because the 4 wheelers will be gone when they get here.

Me and my son spent some of the time shooting claybirds on the ground last night as target shooting is legal as long as the pellets land on my ground..but this is not what i wanted to do on my hunting ground at my house and i will have to drive 20 miles to my other ground to have a undisturbed hunt with deer that dont get this kind of daily use.

I am at 13 year burn on this deal and it's not getting any better.
If the economy was better i would sell this deal in a second tomorrow i will have a blowout with the g/w on a last ditch effort to get my point thru with him but it wont take much to blow my cool at this point, wish me luck

Well that sucks, I have my thoughts on how I would sabotage their machines but I can't suggest that on here.

Two words....video evidence. That's what has been suggested to me by my local GW.

There's lots of thing you could do to render they're riding abilities... but they would probably sue you and win... and that's what sucks. I have no Idea how much land you have, but could you build a fence?

The river side of the ground floods all the time and would wipe out the fence, about a 1/2 mile or so the rest of the ground is fenced but they just cut the fence when they want to.
I have people on horse back, 6x6, 4wd trucks, atv's it's non stop. I can post it one week and all the sign's are gone the next.
coulple of years ago i had a insurance company tried to sue me over a couple of kids that were trespassing and got hurt when they fell out of the back of a 4x4 truck and got ran over by the truck as it backed up, this time i had called the cops and they showed up and told the kids they had to leave and they got hurt after the cops left, I did my part and the cops came and got it on record and thats what my insurance company needed to end the case but now i prosecute if the cops will come out and do there job... no more mr nice guy

That sounds like a seriously frustrating situation! People have zero regard/respect for other people's property. It's sad.

This is true, have one person take a day off of work to appear in court and then pay a fine...trust me, they will stop but not until then

I agree, video evidence is the one thing that may help you out. Set up in a natural made blind along the trails in full camo, and get some video, then come out with an AK-47 and a couple of belts of bullets wrapped around you and do a "Citizen's Arrest."

You may also file a complaint with the state Attorney General because of the local LEO's lack of response. There are avenues of approach, and unfortunately, the ones that would have the best results are ones you may get sued over!!! Damned criminals have more rights than the victims anymore!!!!

When I was a kid, we used to be dumbasses and ride in a big summer camp ground. We never did any damage, but it was wrong.

Anyway, they used to string fishing line across the trails, first guy thru often got knocked on his ass. We learned really fast to ride thru slowly and clear the obstacles, or get the crap smacked out of your chest and end up off the bike...

Not advocating this as a preventative...but it worked pretty well to prevent us many days.

I'd look at video evidence and the possibility of civil action against them for the damage to your property. Sometimes it takes a good hit to the wallet to get someone's attention. Another thought would be also put fence back up and electrify a couple of the strands to get their attention. Good luck. Trespassers always suck especially if they habitually get away with it.

That wouldn't be the reason he's the "X" sheriff, huh? :)

I doubt there's anything you're going to be able to do to stop them. We had the same problem with a bunch of punks riding on the national forest near my parents. The path was dozered into huge mounds of dirt (just made it more fun for them), trees were cut down across the paths (they cut new paths around the fallen trees), & etc. You can do a lot but they always seem to come back.

"Plant" some 2x4s with nails in them....at least they have to deal with some flat tires.

I don't agree in any way w/ the tresspassing or the idiots damaging property, but from what I understand hear in WI is if your property is on a river or creek and it floods anytime through the year the high water mark during flood time is part of the navicable waterway and is public property even after the water receeds no matter if you technically own it. So they could access it from the river without "trespassing". Obviously this is not what they are doing and it would piss me off as well. Video evidence should be the best way to go.

u can always just go to a little convenient store or where they sell lil kids toys and buy an sheriffs badge and pistol for next time u meet them.

Or call the cops and tell them their cooking meth out there that will surely get the cops out there.

Here in mo. the streams act is covered by both gw and sheriffs as is crop damage. riding a motor vehicle in a stream bed is a big fine.

I do a lot for the conservation in my area from donations to property access on my ground which will change if this does not get resolved.
