Bought a black EZV about a month ago, got it tweaked and did a full review. Then my son stole it...... Bought a second one - in sexy camo. Zeroed it and then did what Ranch Fairies do. I took it in the field, put up the video camera, and completed a ReviewHunt. This pig hate"d" camo and the EZV. Typical whitetail setup. 15 feet up in a lock on, shot under 20. Took a severe quartering shot, because that is the best shot on pigs. (2017 Pig Counter #26). Smoked the Bacon. Summer is a great time to tinker. I will be keeping the EZV on my bow.
Nice pig. I concur on the quartering away shot. Didn't get that opportunity on my last hog and had to blast him through the shoulder. Now I have new replacement blades in today's mail because one of them is so bent from the impact.
They are some durable critters and will push your equipment way beyond whitetails. That's why I use pigs as "testing material" for my reviews. If you can kill a pig over 120 lbs with your whitetail set up, whitetails are a chip shot. Heck, elk are in danger if you pass through a 120+ pound pig! Did mention it's totally fun and you can hunt year round? Oh man, any set up, broadhead, rest sight, etc. (guns are totally fun!!!). When I change anything, I go kill something to make sure it is Ranch Fairy approved. I do hunt deer and the sexier species. Thanks.
