Up early getting ready to hit the woods with my bow. It'll be my 1st time out this year and my first deer hunt in many years. I'll be hunting on the ground, treestands just never kept me long. I know it's not as productive but it's the only way I like to hunt. I wear a small rucksack with a homemade treeseat and a singleleg groundstool for different situations in places I want to spend time. The terrain here in SE Ky is big mountains and about the only thing I'll sit upon long is funnels.

Anyway's was just wondering if any of you ever watched an old video called "Whitetail Eye to Eye" by Alan Altizer? My favorite hunting video by far, along with most anything else Alan made. I have it on VCR tape but no more VCR's. I'd like to get it on DVD to watch again and was wondering if this is on DVD anywhere?

I also have "Bad Weather Bucks", and several others by Alan. The guy was not a user of gimmicks or a salesman but a truly interesting Hunter worth watching!

There was a guy reproducing them on DVD:
    WHITETAILS, Eye To Eye

I don't know if they dropped it after an initial run or what, maybe you can contact the guy through his website and find out.

Thanks CM, I sent an E-mail! It felt really good to get into the deer woods with a bow again. I didn't see any deer sat morning but I drew blood with my 1st shot at game with my new PSE. Nailed a squirrel at 30 yds. I had 2 on the ground there and thought sure I'd manage a shot at both but didn't. Wish I had cause 2 is about right for me for a meal, but will eat the one today.

I read on the articles section on here the first really good article about hunting big mountains deer I've ever read. The author hit the nail right on the head IMO. It's got me thinking of getting a couple of Trail cameras. Don't want to sink a bunch $'s in em but am wondering if the Moultries in the $100-$150 range are worth it. All the talk about Pixels means nothing to me being ignorant of such things. Anybody got any good suggestions?

I have some old cameras that I have issues with battery life, only lasting a couple weeks, and trigger sensitivity, where it takes a pic of blowing grass which fills up the card fast and makes it a pain to review pics. Hopefully new cameras have fixed those 2 problems but consider them when looking for one.

I wore that VHS out when I was a kid. Definitely one of my favorites.

I still enjoy a few good ground sits each fall. No blind necessary. :tu:
