Hey Everyone, Has anyone got a chance to use this deer call and if so what can you tell me about how effect it is? The marketing is pretty decent so they claim it's the best deer call yet! However I'm a little skeptical. Just wonder if it's worth the twenty dollars to give it a try. Here is the link for those of you who haven't heard of it. Let me know what you think! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F8M3LR4/ref=pe_608160_153346090_em_1p_0_ti
I got one for Christmas two years ago and haven't used it yet! The mature buck grunt isn't as deep as my MAD call and I have extremely successful over the years with my MAD call so I can't bring myself to replace it!! My dad and my brother both have one and they have been happy with the extinguisher!
I bought one but have yet to use it. I wanted something a littlr tamer than the MAD call I'll also have in stand as primary grunt call. Sounds OK, but not sure how long the tone slide will last ornif it freezes in colder weather.
I bought one a few months back. I am looking forward to using it this year during the Pre-Rut and Rut.
I have heard that the black rack or whatever it is called is a pretty good product. Anyone ise one of those? I like the compactability of a rattle bag but rolling oblong sticks probably isn't the best sound
I have had the extinguisher for 4 seasons now. It's a grunt tube plain and simple...it is not loud but to me sounds pretty natural...the slide system works even in cold weather. I have never had a problem with it sticking. It sounds about like my hs true talker grunt tube but I do find the slide easier to use. The MAD call I have with the snort wheeze attachment is louder and deeper, but sounds a bit plasticky compared. I think the extinguisher is worth $20...you can get the combo of the black rack and the call now for $29.99...it's a decent option if you are in the market.
I went with the Mad hyper growl. It was a little cheaper and I didn't have to wait for it in the mail. Hope it does the trick!
I have not used a "man made" grunt call in years but if I were to use one ....... it would probably be this one. The reason I wouldn't mind using this call is that it adjusts so easily. I have called to (played with) a lot of bucks over the years and there is no one set tone that will bring in every buck. Most of the time, it is the 3rd or 4th grunt that I use, that will bring a buck in. I have been doing all of my grunting and roaring by mouth for 20 some years and would highly recommend that everyone learn to do it by mouth. Switching between the different age structures of bucks and being able to toss in a roar at any time without having to do anything to a call, can sure bring some bucks in.
Forgot to mention: This time of year, as the rut is starting to kick off in most areas....... the buck roar is the call to be using!! If you see a buck that doesn't come in to the roar, roar again and the add a few tending grunts.
