That arm looks like it has some sag, is it level? How do you like it Creeks? What monitor are you running Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is the Monitor....https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1234190-REG/feelworld_fw759_7_ips_1280_x.html.....The camera arm, just started using it.....Yes, it was level probably just the way I was standing or holding phone while filming.... Love the Monitor!!
You will like the Feelworld monitor. They are excellent quality. I have been meaning to post a photo for you guys on how I have my rig setup. I finally got around to snapping a photo today while home at lunch. The basics behind this are as follows: Fourth Arrow Stiff Arm, Manfrotto 701 HDV fluid head, 325 quick release setup, Sony A6500 camera, Sony 18-105 f/4 PZ lens, Sony Remote Control (fancy Gorilla tape because the clap they have sucks LOL), Rode Micro Mic, 11" Magic Arm (though I like the 7" arm better and will likely run it as it is more compact overall) with M6 adapter mounted in the rear arm hole for the fluid head, and a FeelWorld F450 4.5" HD monitor. The Magic Arm lets me position the monitor in most any way that I see fit. I am a right handed shooter so I went against the grain and moved my handle to the left and the monitor to the right. This sounds counter intuitive, but you have no idea how many times I have almost ripped the small flip out screen on a video camera off with my bow when I am at full draw. The configuration that I have switched to gives me full control and keeps critical (i.e. expensive) components away from my bow. Overall the setup is very light and very compact. I also have a Super Clamp for the Magic Arm that gives me the option to mount the monitor on say a tri-pod leg in a ground blind situation. It is about as flexible of a setup as you can get. The color difference you see in the monitor vs the camera screen is simply due to the florescent lights reflecting off of the monitor which is turned at an angle relative to the camera. Surprisingly the monitor and camera screen colors are a very close match when looking from the same angle.
NVM. Cool setup. Im waiting for my Mic and Screen to come then ill post up a picture. I got my remote and it works as advertised.
That head is a copy of the Manfrotto 701 HDV. I am betting anything that it is M6 thread. The easiest way to tell is to take the bold from the handle to a hardware store and check the thread in one of their handy thread sizing tools, or just buy a M6 bolt or nut and test it out. I am almost certain it is M6 though. Here is the link off of Ebay where I bought mine. It comes from China so it is like a 3 week shipping process. Any local machine shop should be able to make one though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-4-female-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
Interesting. I'd take the thing to the hardware store then. Should be able to figure it out pretty quickly based on that.
My fluid head doesn't have a second hole like my previous head does. Any other good ideas on how to run the monitor? I'm only running the monitor because I shoot left handed and that causes obvious issues with the screen being on the other side of the camera. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Also, it would be awesome if it ran on the same battery packs as my camera but none of them do! So there's another chunk of change on batteries and charger. Geez I need cheaper hobbies Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bringing this back up. Like the magic arm but my new head doesn't have a second hole Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Guys I have a question. I got a rode video mic pro and a hot shoe/cold shoe adapter to go in the rear shoe mount. Then I got a 7" feelworld monitor. My question is, would a 7" magic arm be long enough to get it out of the way of the mic if I mount it on the front universal shoe mount? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I doubt it. When I ran a 7" Small HD monitor, I used my 11" Magic Arm. The 7" dimension of the Magic arm is from mounting surface to mounting surface. So you have three ball joints in that distance as well that consume the 3 1/2" each direction of arm from the midpoint. An 11" will definitely get the job done though.
