In no order,as of today. OSU 'Braska Boise Ducks Auburn If you are looking for Bama, you aren't going to get it from me. They are absolutely not the same caliber team as last year.
Scott.....talk about nit-picking....lol. Name no.'s 1-5, in order of where you think they shoudl rank. On second thought, it's unnecessary. You already answerewd sufficiently enough for me to get what I was after. IMO, to you and many others, how good a team really is has little to do with their ranking. Playing the game........
I'm not ready to write Bama off just yet. If they beat LSU and Auburn, IMO, they are the best team in the country and they MIGHT jump an undefeated OK or Oregon. They have already played 4 ranked teams with 2 more highly ranked games to go. Very few teams could escape their schedule undefeated. I think OSU is deserving of their ranking and IMO is the only team that can play with the SEC champion, whoever that may be. I think OK is highly overrated. I'm just not sure about Oregon. Their offense is nasty, but offense does not win championships. I'm not concerned with Boise or TCU. I don't see any scenario where either gets a shot at the title. They will need a tremendous amount of help for that to happen. A one loss from the big boys will trump them in the end. The voters will make it happen, just like they did with LSU in 2007. Geaux Tigers!
Honestly, I haven't saw enough football to legitimatly rank a top 5 in order. The top 5 I gave you was a shot in the dark. All these rankings are meaningless until the regular season is over anyhow. I wish they didn't release rankings until this time of year anyhow. Preseason rankings are ridiculous.
Don't know, really. But I can tell you I'd have Alabama in there.....and OSU. You wouldn't like where I ranked either, though.
Bama isn't necessarily off my list for good... They have a couple big games to make a statement. They are an elite team, it's just the way they lost to USC and the way they barely beat Arkansas for my exclusion of them in my top 5. Heck they could be my #6, I just need to see more games before I could make a real list of how I feel. I just do not feel the best team in the country losses by two touchdowns.
In all fairness, I need to see OSU play someone other who they've played so far, also. Honestly, I think you do, too. Maybe you were including OSU when you said that.
OSU Oregon Oakl Neb Aubrun As for OSU a Tressel Coached team is going to be very hard to beat. Having watch Tressel kick our ass the past 10 years, I can tell you he knows how to win at football. TP would run away with the Heisman race if Tressel turned him loose. Tressel wins with defense and speacial teams. OSU appears to win ugly at times, it's by design. IMO Tressel is the best football coach in college football. For a Michian guy to state that takes A LOT. EDIT It has a name here in the Big Ten "Tressel Ball" And I hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're gonna get your wish in about an hour& a half. It's a prime time, national broadcast, with College Gameday broadcsting live, also. And so far, most ESPN anylists have picked Wisconsin to beat us. This is a poweful team, with an oustanding coach and one of the toughest stadiums in the nation, to play in. I'll be the first to say that I'm a little nervous and an upset is well within the realm of possibility.... but if OSU wins, would you then agree with their #1 ranking?? The dynamics of the BCS formula boggles the minds of those who created it... we need a play-off! Double Creeks- well said. Joe- AMEN to that. Our kicking and coverage game has been pitiful!! We're going to need some major improvement in those ares if we are going to win tonight.
Which ESPN analysts? Would I consider OSU No. 1 "worthy" if they beat a high teens ranked team? Well.....no. That wouldn't make any sense.
Badgers - 21 Buckeye's - 3 in the 2nd qtr....looks like Wisconsin is showing us that perhaps the BCS rankings are more accurate than we give it credit for
and boise st was winning 34-0 against a scrappy san jose st team in the second quarter. 28-18 wisconsin over osu in the 4th.
