Let's hear a few stories about your experiences with famous people. Were they *******s? Nicest person ever? I haven't met that many, but I'll list mine. Karl Malone - Kinda an *******. The first time I met him, he called me a racist. The second time, I was drunk, and I ran up behind him and rubbed his head, so I can understand why he was an ******* towards me then. Josh Brolin - I only met him once, and he was drunk out of him mind, so he was kinda cool because he kept buying everyone shots. He walked up to one of my chick friends, put his arm around her, grabbed her boob and said "I like the way you are built" Jessica Simpson - *****. Sat next to her at a restaurant, and we left her alone, but she was a ***** to everyone that approached her, which was not that many people. I can understand if it was a constant thing, but when I little girl asks for an autograph, don't roll your eyes, you talentless hag. Terry Bradshaw - Just goofy. Phil Robertson (Duck Dynasty) - I guess he is a celebrity now, but I've met him on multiple occasions, and he is authentic as it gets. Great guy. Anybody got something more interesting?
I haven't met too many, but: Tony Gonzalez: Prima Donna Jared Allen: Genuinely nice. He's the kinda guy you would want to hang out with or go hunting with.
I've really not had many direct run ins with a true celebrity. The closest was when I shared an elevator with the "undertaker" from WWE. That is one big dude. It, was late, I was pretty drunk & he just looked like he wanted to get to his room, so I never bothered him, or said anything. I'm sure he probably got a chuckle as I "subtley" pointed over my shoulder to my girlfriend that the ginormous guy standing there was the undertaker.
I've met just about every hunting "celebrity" that there is at one point or another. If I gave my honest opinions on all of them here I would probably lose my job. :D As for "real" celebs, not many. Certainly no A-listers. I met Kevin Nash (WWE wrestler) back when WWE/WWF were near their peak of popularity in the early 2000's. Ran into him at the Bellagio in Vegas around 2 am. He wasn't impressed by me at all, therefore he falls in the d-bag category. Sometime around 1995-1996 my old neighbor's cousin came to visit her, and he happened to be the bassist for Queensyrche. I was all about Korn and Deftones at the time, so I was not impressed with him at all. I remember thinking "Who listens to Queensryche?" Met Pauly Shore after a stand-up act a few years ago. Very cool, down to Earth guy. Who doesn't love Son-in-Law? Met the guys from Incubus back in 1999 right when Make Yourself was released. We were in St. Louis for a friend's wedding and they were doing an album signing at some little record store. Like 20 people showed up. We hung out with them for awhile and tried to con them into playing our friend's reception that night. Very cool bunch of guys. Did bump into Keanu Reeves at an Anthrax concert at the House of Blues a few years back. Very nice guy. Stopped to say hi and chat for a minute, then proceeded backstage with the rest of the cool kids.
Gus Frerotte....2nd string QB for the vikings (and about 10 other NFL teams)....yes it was pretty big deal
I got to meet several when I was a radio dj. A few that stood out. Richard Marx- biggest a-hole I've ever met. He's in a league of his own. John Goodman- nearly beat up one of my buddies at a gentlemans club in East St Louis. He is a large man and pretty quick for his size Tiny Tim- one of the strangest people I've ever been around. Smelled like a goats ***. Rupert from Survivor- also strange Ric Flair- cool guy with a ton of stories
When stationed at the Presidio of Monterey, used to go to the Hogsbreath Inn in Carmel By The Sea and get drinks from Clint Eastwood (who owns the place). Very nice man who treated military personnel very well. Also, Chris Fehn, a drummer for Slipknot, has come down to fish at my place. He's alright.
Scott Walker. Dude is easy to talk to. That is about all I have. Posted from my phone so please excuse my brevity.
Justin Zarr, I met him before rock-star status. Real cool dude, but Vito aim higher Jack Nicklaus - what a focus that man has, even when he just talks to you. He makes you feel pretty cool because he is totally engaged in your conversation. He does not get side tracked. John Salley in a diner at 2:00 am in flint, we were headed lake trout fishing on Huron, he was eating fries.
Mariah Carey, shes friends with my uncle and i saw him at my uncles wedding. she was a snob! when ever someone tried to talk to them she would say ohh i need another wine or oh something, she found any excuse not to start a convorsation.
When I was younger my parents owned a sporting clays club here in Ohio. When I was around 14-15 years old Graham Greene came to our place to do some shooting. I got to do the trapping for him. He is a great guy. Very genuine and funny not to mention an excellent tipper :D
Hulk Hogan, meant him at a Viper Club event with his whole family and he seems alright. He brought a couple of his own Vipers. He's not as big as I thought he'd be.
Oh, I completely forgot about Larry the Cable Guy. He came in to Famous Dave's to have lunch before one of his shows in Duluth. Ate by himself, was a hell of a nice guy. Left a huge tip for the server. As he left I thanked him for coming in. He busted out a huge smile and said "Get 'er Done!" I had to shake my head... but he's nice as could be.
Mid-80's played pool with guys from Night Ranger at a hotel in Green Bay...nice guys even after me and my buddy whipped them soundly.
