So as everyone's season is beginning to start, I thought mine was going to as well. With less than a month til I comeback to the states, I find out that my orders have all been changed. I was enroute to Ft. Campbell, Ky. I had already shipped all my belongings there. I read up on all the Ky/TN laws and started my plans as to where I could hunt. Then today I find out I'm now headed somewhere else. Fortunately for me I think I'm going to be one happy camper. My new orders state Fort Carson, CO which is right outside Colorado Springs. To say the least I'm pretty stoked. I've only ever hunted white-tails, now I'm able to do some mule deer, elk and some speed goats. Plus not to mention that since I'm already that far west, I can pretty much head anywhere. Now I guess its just time to start catching up on all the new laws fairly quickly. Fortunately though, I'm still going to be hunting Ohio as well throughout the year as I travel home.

If anyone as any advice or anything that could help me with the area hunting please let me know. I feel like I'm going to be lost for the first couple months and I'm sure that's when the hunting should be at its peak.

well, ft campbell would have been pretty good since we got some decent sized whitetail and turkey galore but it seems you got the better end of the deal by going to carson. never hunted there but would love to.

That's pretty cool! I hope to get out west to hunt sometime in the next few years. Elk, mule deer and antelope are all on my hunting bucket list.

Sounds like you'll be able to get some good "new" hunting in out there. Safe travels this year Steven and thank you for living this lifestyle to insure ours.

just take the train ride up Pikes peak and bring your bow. You should be able to get some shots off at a few mule deer on the tracks, all so, you can walk up to the sheep and stick you arrow in them without useing a bow. They like to hang out near the tracks too. Thanks.
