There's not really an argument there, Ford just sucks no matter how you look at it :whip:

I shot Rages again last year, but that was only because I had them laying around. I'm really looking at trying out the DRT fixed blades this next season.

Its not really a argument its a simple asking what you shoot not what is better becuase they both have ups and downs IMO
Same boat never had a problem with my Rages I am just trying to decide if I want to make the switch to fixed

QAD exodus. fixed. Rage is horrible because like others said it loses energy (like all expandable's), and once it cuts through the hide, the blades flop around on entrance. If i had to pick a different fixed blade, it would be without any question slick trick magnum

I tried the Killzones with both my bow and xbow this year but with my setups Im going back to Slick Tricks. Something about the Slick Tricks and the razor sharp blades just do it for my set up. Esp my bow I get a lot more penetration and my arrows are a little lighter than most people. I prefer to have the little speed edge with my short DL. My Xbow was right on the bubble as well.

Not knocking mechanical heads but they def require more punch and power to get them to work the most effectively. Fixed blades are fool proof and can't go wrong. I think it depends on each individuals set up. For me im sticking with the Slick Tricks from now on.

broadheads are the most OVER-RATED area in the bowhunting world.
seems like every year, someone comes out with 1 that has the "cool" factor tied to it. be it a new look or a new cool name.
here's the scoop folks. find a fixed blade that has sharp blades and a strong design and go shoot some critters.
i shoot Muzzys cuz the are fairly cheap ($) and theY plain *** work. 100+ deer have died and i can't say one has ever "FAILED"

To be fair, in the 40 something deer I have killed with my bow so far (mostly with expandables), the expandables have never failed either. It all depends on your setup.

I shoot both love the Rage hypos. They have performed flawlessly for me. But I also use the magnus killer bees or stingers I shoot whatever I want for the situation I'm in

I have always shot mechanicals until this past season. Idk if I will ever shoot them again or not but I am certainly not opposed to going back to using them. When I did use them they always left one heck of a blood trail and always found my harvest within 100 yards. I was just looking for a great flying fixed head that would be hard to beat in terms of kinetic energy and penetration...I achieved my goal when I found out about Solid Broadhead Company and am very happy with my decision so far!

I used the titaniums since they came out, the 125 grain hypo got me to switch for next year. I wish Rage made a 150 grain head.

Only thing I stress to people is despite whatever broadhead you choose know what it can do well and what it can't do...and use it accordingly. Every broadhead is not equal, some penetrate better, some produce huge entrance wounds, some shatter through bone, some are stopped by a bone...in the end any broadhead used accordingly and put in the right spot will expire a deer no problem.

depending on your arrow, just add some weights to bump the FOC up and pack a little more punch. I shoot 125gr Slicks but have 50grains of additional weight added upfront through weights.

weights would accomplish that and you could keep the head you like.

Arrow weight is more important than the head.
