I vote a straight republican ticket and a registered democrat.(just haven't changed it) I do this for one reason. To fight liberalism. It is a neccessary evil in todays two party system. We have to keep the votes in the house and senate out of the liberals hands or we will lose our way of life in this country. We have reached a point where politicians vote along party lines for party backing, regardless of their personal beliefs and at this point in history, democrats are too liberal for me. It is a shame because we have some well intentioned politicians being corrupted by the system. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
Its the governments job to create an environment for jobs to be created, not to create those jobs. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2
LOL your right. Sorry now give us the number of years the Dems controlled congress? The Dems controlled it for 40 years before Newt talked some sense into America.
Who controls Congress matters little compared to how many votes are collected from each party on the issue, but then you know that. Thats what I said T. I will vote for the party that includes Jobs in their decision making process. LOL, It was easy to tell.
When an incumbent president runs for reelection, he can do so only on his record of achievement in the prior term. The public has had more than 3.5 years of interviewing Obama to see if they wish to rehire him for the job. Here is what people had to say about his record and his job as president. http://thehill.com/polls/239377-the-hill-poll-majority-of-voters-blame-president-for-bad-economy
If it were only that simple. The party that controls Congress also controls what issues are allowed to make it out of committee for debate. If the controlling party does not like a piece of legislation, it never sees the light of day as it is squashed in committee before it ever makes it to the floor. I would like to say, "but you know that", but apparently you didnt, or your response was another avoidance tactic. Either way, it was misleading at best. I hope you dont find the facts too..
I'm not your Teacher fletch, it's not my job to break things down to a 7th grade level. Best thing you can do is yahooo your way over to the House of Representatives, and see how the committees are actually made up, it's apparent you don't have a clue!
Nice try. I know exactly how they are set up and I know how they work, including their sub-committees. The same as they do at the state level actually. You do realize that the committe chairs are appointed by the party in charge right? Traditionally, the party in charge allows the most senior member of the committee(in their party) to be the chair. Your post has made it obvious to me that you dont get that. I have friends in both the Senate and House at the state level and have heard many times the frustration they have endured with partisan roadblocks that dont ever even allow for the legislation to make it out of committee or sub-committee. It is all dependent on who is in control at the time. Politics at its most rudimentary level. I am actually surprised you would bother to argue that fact. Seems you are the one in need of a teacher on this topic. But to say you could teach government at a 7th grade level is being far too presumptuous.
Oh I realize it fletch, Your not under some false impression that the chairmen on these committees get more than one vote are you. You also leave out the fact that the committees are made up both parties, if the majority holds 55% of the seats in the House they hold 55% of the seats in a committee. It does not take a wizard to figure out how many extra seats the majority will get on a committee of 20. A few years back it was not that hard to pull the votes on solid issues, different story now. The Rules Committee is another animal, the majority holds 9 of the 13 seats, and controls the bills, the dates and under what terms they will be debated on the house floor. Can they keep a bill from reaching the Floor, Indeed they can if they have the votes, and rightfully so, one only needs to watch Cspan a couple times to see how stupid some of them are, and thats the ones that make it to the House floor! Are you saying its the Democrats fault the Republicans cant make jobs, Hell they will tell you their not going to make jobs? Was you even a sperm 41 years befor Nute? Tell them to stop submitting Dumb chit like research for how much methane is in a Cow Fart, or if a Minnow has a Penis or not. Let me know if you need some more lessons. Like I said, Its the votes that count.
Exactly the type of liberal rhetoric I expected. I was not disappointed. It did take a while to look all of that up and post though didnt it? You have come a ways since stating that it doesnt matter who controls Congress, I think... I still dont think you understand the power that the committee chair has. You proved that by stating all they get is a vote. They very much control what gets discussed in committee to be passed up for further dabate. They in effect, can squash anything they choose. Given the fact that they are appointed by the majority leader and that same majority leader even picks what committee will be assigned the topic, the minority party is powerless at best. You can look it all up again and see that I have been correct from the beginning and keep your pompus remarks about lessons to yourself. Dont feel bad, most people dont have a clue how the system actually works behind closed doors. They just feel the pain.
Hey, I'm white and old.... and a Republican.... but I still think Condolesa is hot. Hubba Hubba. She's smart as all hell too and one fantastic gal. I'd vote for her on any ticket.
Here is an example of racism from a black lawmaker urging black voters to “vote for somebody that looks like you”. I’m embarrassed that she is from WI. http://www.blackchristiannews.com/n...to-vote-for-somebody-who-looks-like-them.html
