Nope, never even crossed my mind to quit hunting. I can see how folks get frustrated and stressed for wanting to kill a certain buck and never can, but for me, hunting is SOOO much more than putting a buck on the wall or meat in the freezer. When you thinking about hunting what do you think about? I think about a cold crisp morning, as the sun is just peaking over the horizon, hearing the birds wake up and the crunching of leaves (usually from squirrels). I can feel the cold breeze on my neck as I slump down in my chair to bundle up tighter. I hunt this, much more than I hunt any animal. I was lucky enough to be raised by men who loved the woods, not just the animals, that for me has made all the difference in my hunting. Because lets face it, if most of us hunted just to kill that buck....we probably would quit. Out of 20+ years hunting, I only have 2 bucks on my wall. But I have countless more memories of sunrises, sunsets, birds/squirrels/fawns playing, the long walks to and from the stands up and down hills carry 50lbs of equipment miles and giving myself a pep talking to carry it further (like I was in some boot camp or something...). That's why I'll never stop hunting, what do you hunt?
no can't quit. bowhunting is the most fun and challenging sport out there. besides if I quit bow hunting I'd probably get lazy and stupid and find myself sitting around *****in about some guy popping a lion....
