I have plenty of years left of bowhunting in me but I'm sure the day will come that I just hunt with rifle. The land I hunt is 150 miles from my house and setting up a bunch of portable stands each year is a lot of work.

Can't say I've considered giving up hunting, but I've certainly considered giving up the camera on multiple occasions.

So if someone bowhunted for like 30-40 years and killed piles of animals before hanging it up...you would say they have no patience and didn't give enough effort? There are different reasons people decide to not do something anymore.

Nope. I am ate up with it! As long as I have strength to get dressed and drive/walk to the woods, I will be bowhunting.

    Give it up? No way.

Gotta cut back on some early season stuff this year though. First year self employed and I have to make sure I have the money to get through the winter.

i can't even imagine. i've been bowhunting since i was 12 and am 50 now. never missed a season and don't think i've ever went a season without 10 days. many years its been 30+.
i coyote hunt an average of 25 days a year, bear hunt 10 days a year and then theres trapping, scouting, foodplots, land management, fishing, and just general goofing around in the woods/fields.
i've spent my whole life not worrying about keeping up with the Jones'.
i ai'nt got much but there are few that have spent more time in the outdoors as I.
every single aspect of my life is revoled aroud hunting in some way.
i'm a blessed man though, my wife is darned near as bad as me:o

I don't see me ever giving it up. It's become all consuming for me, especially as my wife gets into it more and more. I think my favorite part had become the targeting of certain bucks and figuring out everything they do.

I didn't bow hunt for the first few years I was in law school because I didn't have time. The first few years out of school I hunted very little. Life has stabilized to the point now I can plan weekends and vacation time to hunt.

I have had a several hobbies over the year that I no longer partake in, however I have never let up bow hunting or fly fishing.....and I don't ever plan to. I take about four week to every fall for as long a could remember and if anything now I am hunting more then ever.

I've had to pause on hunting during my deployments, both before and after, as well as the birth of my first child, but now I'm back in the game, for good. I'm not taking any more breaks, Hunting is really apart of me, and when I stopped to be a better dad or husband, it never really worked out. My wife and I had a long talk about it, and she's fine with me hunting, and we've set up a schedule so that we both get time to do what we love, while till being good parents.

I won't stop bow hunting until I can't physically do it any more, and then I'll bow hunt in my dreams.

    Nope-

Life for me would be so boring if I didn't have my hunting and fishing! It is who I am and what I do!

You have a better chance of seeing the Easter Bunny in the woods than me giving up bowhunting.

Ive been in the woods with a bow for about 40 years now and can’t imagine giving up on bowhunting. At some point age and aches and pains will set in and I wont be able to draw a real bow and I will have to stop being a bowhunter. I will continue to crank the bow down until I get to the state’s min draw weight and then I will have to quit the bowhunting game. I hope that does not happen for a very long time.
