went for a five mile hike today and gobblers were quiet. I didn't get out til 8:30 so I missed the roost action. I think it just got too hot today. might try again tomorrow. I have til the end of may so i'll hit it hard starting next week.
Good luck! I am praying that all the nasty weather stays west of me so I can get out this weekend. Not looking real promising though.
Blasted gobbler waltzed by at 57 yards! Either I need to start practicing out to 90 yards or I need to figure out a way to get them closer!#bowhunterblues
I attempted to hunt this weekend, I got out long enough to get soaking friggin wet!!! Looks like the weather is more promising for the next week. About damn time.
heard three but no luck this morning. found his strut zone and i'll be there in the morning waiting for him. gotta get to bed. 3:30am comes awfully early.
Lol I know the feeling man!! I cant hunt tomorrow gotta help a farmer friend milk his cows cause he busted his arm while working...
Well I hate to say this but I think my turkey season may be over! I herniated a couple discs in my back and drawing my bow back is not high my priority list at the moment. Glad I was able to get it done early in the season!! Good luck to you guys still at it!
Ouch, that sucks lung buster, have had back problems in the past myself, no fun at all. As to turkey season, it is over for me. It has been a crappy one. The birds and the weather just hasn't cooperated at all... Been trying everything I could think of to get a bird but just couldn't get them to cooperate....
been tough here also. been hearing lots of birds but getting no response from them. it has been very strange for me this year. the birds aren't roosting in the same area day after day. one day they will be here then the next they will be quarter of a mile away. just to hard to run and gun with a bow. but I am about ready to try it! tomorrow we start all day hunting so maybe I can nail one before he goes to roost at night.
