Nice job Dan, Congrats!! I had a good hunt yesterday morning. Called in a dandy bird off the roost, watched him RUN 1/4mi down the road towards my dekes only to have him stop hard at 45yds then circle to the back of the blind never offering a good shot. Gonna head back out this afternoon with my lil boy, hopefully we have some action. I REALLY want to punch my last tag with him by my side.
I got my bird entered team, it will throw us over the top into the lead unless there has been others not entered,,,like um tacklebox
Things are looking pretty good so far! I will be out Saturday and then I have the next two weeks to hunt so hopefully I can kill one a little bigger!!
Dan I wanted to wait to enter till I kill my second bird. Thinkin I can up my score some Lil man and I hit the blind last night. Saw some birds as we went in but nothing wanted to play along. Still was a really great sit, had dinner in the blind and a really cool encounter with a big ol doe that checked us out. Funny how sometimes the most uneventful hunts are the best... I think Myles thanked me 6-7 times when we got home for taking him out.... if he only knew
Been out every morning possible but one, and only seen 1 bird..heard tons of birds, they just wont come in

that is what hunting is all about!!!! few more years before my son and I can have moments like that. can't wait!
Got up to go to work this morning and had three birds gobbling hard across the street from my house at first light!! I will be there Saturday morning!
I tried the sneak attack in the pasture on a big bird last night. Used my Montana Strutter and was able to get to 150 ish. He was working my way then finally got a good look at the deke and slinked off the other way. Same response I got on Sunday. Guess they are tired of fighting already. Gonna put up everything but the hens and give it a go.
The jake and or strutter was the ticket the first few weeks. Think the birds are getting worn and not as up to the fight at this point. Hopefully the switch up will help. Now if the daily freaking T-storms would take a break I could get back out.
