I spotted this buck on Saturday Evening around 1730. He didn't respond to my calls and went after a doe. Can't hunt on Sunday and I had to work Monday morning. Monday evening I get in the same stand and low and behold I see a guy and his two boys enter the woods where this buck came out Sat. evening. I get down to see who it is and discover its the game warden that helped me nab those trespassers last year. He had shot the buck earlier that morning (gut shot) and was just coming back to look. Anyway, he found it and I helped him with the drag. I was a little bummed at first but he's a great guy and deserved it. Here's some photos I snapped of him and his two boys. As for me, I'm on to the next one. :)

Yep, awesome main beams.... kinda sucks, but I bet you've strengthened your friendship with him -- and that's not a bad friendship to have. ;)

That kinda sucks. I thought all the land around you was private? What is on the deers eyes in the last pic?

Flys and buzzards go for the eyes first.
    That's a shame. Public land?
You have a great attitude and will be rewarded I'm sure.

This is actually private land in which only a few of my company's employees hunt. The warden has permission to hunt to keep an eye on the place...I also do that too. :)

The last pic he had put sunglasses over the eyes because he couldn't stand where the buzzards had eaten the eyes out. Yes, I think its a great friendship to have and we've been emailing back and forth since I sent him these pics. He already told me to tell him when he can return the favor.

Aaron...yeah man. Just hit me up. I can always eat. :)

When I was a kid, my dad was friends with one of the local wardens. He used to take us out when he stocked pheasants. That was cool.

Actually, those are flies but he did have tons of ticks on him. He was shot early that morning and not recovered until 1700 or so and that was in 70 degree temps.
