    Gosh I'm trying to recall but I think Grant Woods had a video on that. If I recall it doesn't fair well for the buck...not gospel though. Check his video library.

    I agree with oldnotdead. I watched a growing deer episode that explained it. It looks like it may of came out a little prematurely.

    I will have to check it out. Hoping hes still out there. I heard about the deer having brain abscess to drop that bone like that. Apparently some die after and some live.

    That is the result of a cranial abscess. It will get worse each year with further skull plate being lost with each shed. It will very likely eventually kill him if he isn't already dead.

    I have 3 years worth of trail cam photos and progressive sheds from a very nice buck who suffered this fate.
