Just a stupid ignorant question. What happens if you buy $30 of gas but miscalculated and your tank only takes $27 worth? Does this ever happen?

I like filling my tanks to limit the amount of fill ups.

I've never forgot to get gas before but I have come very close to putting gas in my diesel, had the nozzle in the hole and everything. Realized it just before I pulled the trigger...

We pump then pay with the wife's vehicle. I normally get gas after work for my truck and the place I go to is closed for the day... so I pay for it at the pump.

Never heard of prepaying at any gas station here.

So today I've learned that either the South is full of criminals or the station owners in the South have no faith in people and are untrusting.

There are cameras everywhere and they are watched closely. It's not like it is the honor system.

Even in a metropolis like Milwaukee, it's pump then pay. If it is pre-pay only I feel like I am in the ghetto.

Germ, I forgot once as well. Got two blocks away and almost crapped in my pants. Turned around and the lady was already on the phone for the cops.

Lets see, I dont have to prepay for gas. I dont have to lock the house or car. My kids can run all over town without worry. We have neighborhood bar-b-ques. We get to watch new release movies at the theatre for $3. Our deputy carries one bullet.......yep, still livin in the 50's. lol And love it by the way.

But you live in Iowa, so you still lose.

Except for hunting, y'all can always hold that over my head.

Hook you missed the most important part of his post. $3 movies? Are you serious? $3 movies and great hunting....I'm living in the wrong part of the country.

lol. I'm glad a lot of folks feel the way you do. That's why we are able to live like we do.

By the way, I have been to LA, and since I didnt lose anything there, I dont need to go back.

Iowa is number one in the nation in SAT scores and LA is number two in the nation for poverty. Do we still lose? Guess I didnt look up crime rate. Any chance you beat us there? lol

Well, I just looked up crime rate and it appears I would be 11.83 times more likely to be murdered there. 14.2 murders per 100,000 vs. 1.2 per 100,000.

Well, I must admit that it cost $5 for a 3-D show. Yogi Bear is pretty cool in 3-D though. So was Gulliver. My wife sits on the movie board and they make so much money at $3 that they gave the town enough money to resurface the local tennis courts. Entire two screen theatre with all digital equipment was built with community donations. Even have midnight opening of some of the big new releases, just like them thar big city folks. lol

This entire post blows my mind.

    Seriously.

    A "show"? Movie board? $5 for a 3D movie?

    Where the hell am I?

Our crime must still be in the 50's !!! :whip: :D

I did ask the wife after I made the post if she knew of any place that you had to prepay if you didn't want to pay at the pump . She said out on the reservation there is a gas station that has gone that route in the last couple years. It's either pay at the pump, prepay or they hold your drivers liscense while you pump. They aren't taking any chances.
