I'm sure some of you have. I can't say I feel good about it, I'm just really surprised that I didn't feel more disappointed. Yesterday, I had a decent 10 point walk right under me within 5 yards of my tree. As he passed, I drew and then grunted at him to stop him. He was 15 yards from me broadside looking my way. I let down because I wasn't sure he'd make the 13 inch spread limit for the county. Obviously I didn't shoot because of the legality of it, I just thought I'd be a little more discouraged, but I wasn't at all. The reason I thought it would be harder is that, this is the first deer I've drawn my bow on since January 2003. In those 6 1/2 years this is the 3rd deer I've actually passed on and only my 4th shot opportunity at a deer with my bow. Kinda sucks....but....I really enjoyed my hunt yesterday. Maybe things are turning around for me. Just thought I'd share...
Cool Waid. There have been a couple of times I let down and was glad I did. I just didn't feel right about a shot for whatever reason. I'd sure rather let down than make a bad hit like I did with my longbow a couple weeks ago. If that 10 walks by you again next year he'll be a no doubter!
Greg, if you posted about your misfortune...sorry I missed it. I haven't had the chance to spend much time on here. Did you find the deer? I do feel good about the situation. I'm still positive about my season. Thanks Coach Huck!
Greg, I found your post. Sounds like you're having a year like my last few. I do understand your frustrations, believe me! Don't give up buddy, it'll happen.
It really dosent bother me to much to pass on them. Im just curious is the 13" minimum fir the inside or outside spread? I hunted a place in KY that is public bowhunting only and there rule is 15" but for the outside spread. just curious!
