I also think our view of how many idiots are out there gets skewed. 20 guys that are perfectly normal may be in the area doing nothing to disturb others. One pair of idiot brothers can run amok and piss off an entire county.

Sad thing is a lot of people are opportunistic. They will try to get away with something as long as they think they can. Man that sucks about your new camera. Just once I would love to hear someone here say they caught someone taking their camera and beat the H&LL out of them. I hang all my cameras high now because of thieves trespassing. I hope you get the camera back.

I agree with what someone else said, a big part of it must be related to their lifestyles and habits. A thief hunting, would obviously steal anything of value he comes across.

In my opinion, half of Hunter education is learning about ethics, but this goes to show a lot of people still don't care. If only they had trail cams with a GPS to catch those *******s.

Basically going to reiterate what's already been said, but people as a whole especially my generation (I'm 22) seem to be ignorant, lazy, and thoughtless. I'm proud to call myself a hunter rather then just someone who hunts. However I have friends and acquaintance's who for lack of a better term are idiots. I've tried to explain why you need to think these things trough and have actually been ridiculed for taking things to seriously or over thinking. One of them being a guy who claims to be going in to fish and wildlife, yet apparently shot 8 deer this year which I'm almost certain didn't go through the trouble to buy bonus tags. It's becoming a lost art to be a descent person when you know you can get away with it, which going back to what sota says, is why it pays in more then one way to live on and hunt the same property.

    Spoiled children.

    Or, simply just white trash.

Funny thing is, we think the one thief may actually be a 12 year old. Were looking into it closer.

Better nip that one in the bud. If you don't he's going to either be in jail or a pain in your butt for a long time.

Sad but true. Thanks to the mindset of society today too many think they deserve what others have whether they have worked for it or if they can afford it. "It's not fair..." you hear that far too often these days.

This right here! Many people have a sense of entitlement and a lack of morals. It starts at home with the proper teaching and being a good example.

A lot of good points my opinion is this, people now mostly younger than 25 have no clue what the word RESPECT means. When most of us were younger growing up hunting with family or mentor they taught us to RESPECT the woods and nature and people among other life lessons. Parents don't take the time to teach life and mentors are all to gone. For me I have 2 daughters and you bet your a$$ that I teach life lessons. I have never had any gear stolen but lots of ski busters duck hunting and over all jerks when it comes to shotgun season deer. All you can do is stay positive..

There are still younger people such as myself (I'm 19), That still have respect and morals. As many said its how you are raised, how kids act is a reflection of the people who raised them. I've had a trail camera taken by grown men, people of all ages are stupid.

Ive had clothes stolen out of my truck, multiple tree stands stolen, etc. Nowadays I don't leave anything in the woods. I slip in with my climber, hunt, then leave without a trace. People leave beer bottles, buck bomb cans, cigarettes, and everything else in the woods. Part of the reason people act in that manner is because 1) They are dumb, with a seriously low iq and 2) being out in the woods with no one watching causes those idiots to act to the height of their idiocy.

As many people as there are that hunt where I live. I havent had my camera stolen. and i havent even had a picture of a person. most southern cali hunters are lazy. and they wont even go far off the road. plus i wont see a single hunter tell opening day. no one else scouts. i just pull down my camera before season. Sorry bud. that is really frustrating. our society is going down the ****ter very fast. im only 30, but i never thought even for a second that we would ever have to worry about our country turning into an all out socialist country. and look how far bernie sanders is coming. its scary, and its all because people want **** for free, and they dont value hard work, and dont care how there gain impacts others..... it really makes me sad for our country and its future. our great nation is beginning to crumble at every corner.

Yeah man I've had one Covert stolen and it was 2 weeks old...
The Trail Cam game is very addicting for me, but it's also somewhat pricey. So every camera I buy now I also purchase a "Bear" Lock Box

In regards to stealing.....more times than not it is something that is taught by parents and not looked at as something wrong. Can't fix ignorant or stupid people. Hunters and many others fit this group. Ethics is a foreign word to most in this group. Legal doesn't mean anything to them.

The part about others posing in front of cameras is pretty funny to me. At least they aren't stealing I guess.

Unfortunately today to many people live with the attitude that...............

"it's only illegal if you get caught!"
