Anyone ever hunted suburban whitetails? Some of the biggest bucks In the world are there because no gun seasons are allowed. Yep, I'd do It.

x2 Trev. Here's mine 303-434-2052. She can call collect! She can even keep the horns to offset the damage

Yes, you don't need a deer tag. All you need is fruit and a hammer;)

See...? If he don't someone else will... my point exactly :D ;)

Nothing retarded, laughable, or making excuses about it, just a motivational statement of Fact.

i mean i dont see nothing wrong with it...its almost like a controlled hunt..you would have deer running everywhere during one of these hunts...i mean its still a deer, tame or not..you still got to shoot and kill it, as long as your not breaking any rules...this is how alot of these urban deer are .....i live just outside of a small town....cornfields and small wooden lots..if i heard from word of mouth that a monster was wondering around in someones back lot acres...i would be the first to set up...why not....i mean i understand some people might not feel its ethical, but why....i mean you dont have to kill it...just take a look seee:D:D

X2, this mentality is what leads some states to shot out deer herds with few mature bucks.

not sure what i would do... kinda torn on this one.... for sure meat in the freezer is a hard thing to pass up. as far as the buck, you would still have some work to do/put in to get him.... let us know what happens!

Now that I digested this a little bit... I guess the spot that turned me off on hunting this buck is the lady knows he comes through her back yard between 1030-11 every morning...

Had I not read this, I may have thought differently on hunting this buck... I see nothing wrong at all hunting suburban deer.

its not like the deer is gonna walk up to you and..say wait...wait...let me turn broadside and shoot me....hes still a wild animal..i see more and more monsters in urban areas....actaully on this hunting show last night..these guys were hunting off the top of this roof...of a old abandon house....you see it happening more and more ...this is were actually the bigger bucks have been found...closer to project areas and housing places...they feel safer for some reason....i would do it for sure..you still have to hunt it...and it still would make my heart raceeee..its legal..therefore ..im game...but i respect everyone else opinion..for sure..

Kill em. They have became a nuisance. I took out a family of does about 3 years ago that came to the garden every night. They weren't in a fence but it was pretty close to shooting fish in a barrel. They tasted good!

Please don't kill me........I live in a neighborhood and I have feelings. Please, I am very sociable and love dogs, lawn mowers, and occasionally watch Mrs. Smith while she showers. Please don't kill me since I am donating my eyes when I pass on.

I haven't read all of the posts but most. Though This type of hunting is not my cup of tea I have to admit you should do it if you want for another reason. Eventually the community/city may use other options such as hiring sharpshooters!!! The town I live in is seriously considering this because of deer problems inside/outside the town..........hiring sharpshooters from Chicago. Better you than some hired "guns".

I will hunt land that is legal with no worries what so ever. Some people get all bent out of shape because certain hunting ground is easier to hunt certain types of deer. If I could turn the land next to me into a park where nobody could hunt, then I would without hesitation. Some of the biggest name hunters we know hunt land that has no access or restricted access next to it. I call that being a good hunter and finding good land.

For some reason some view having good trophy buck land as having an advantage, I say so what, I call it good scouting.

I would give my left nut to have access to land where the piece next to it had no hunting, I would careless what others thought or how unfair they think it was to hunt land like this.

The hot spot around here is a boyscout camp, I believe Folkrod ownes piece next to it.

Germ you couldnt have said it better...i mean we go where deer are...thats the whole purpose of scouting...your telling me..that if somebody came up to you and was like bro....we have a giant 200 class buck behind our house that eats out of my mothers garden everyday from 10:30 to 11:00, you would jump all over it and shoot it...as long as it was legal in season....heck ya you would.....

We spend 90 percent of the time looking for deer and deer sign scouting and like 10 percent acutally hunting it....percentages may vary..but you catch my drift...

Heres just one article of many of reasons why we should control deer in urban areas...whether you feel unsporty about it or not...its a problem....why not take care of it....another bonus is alot of monster bucks are found in these areas...no negative sides to it..

    A couple of observations:

    1. Dilemmas like this should just be acted on and never posted about because...well just read these 6+ pages.

    2. A lot of people assume that because a suburban buck makes itself visible from a house that you could walk out on the back porch and shoot it. Granted it's not the same as patterning a buck on a 2000 acre tract, but he didn't get that old by being dumb.

    3. Rob and Jeff have both gone old-school Atlasman on this thread. I find that awesome.

    4. Everyone should listen to iamyourhuckleberry. From now on if I have a dilemma that I need an opinion on I'm just pming him.

There's really no dilema here. Just do what your gut tells you to do. If you do kill that bad boy I want to see pictures!
The real dilema is do you gut it out on someones lawn or not. LOL
That happened in my hometown. A guy shot one (legally) and it died on someones front lawn. He backed his truck up and loaded it quick and got out of there!
