I keep giving answers but I can never seem to get any back for my questions. I must be talking with a bunch of liberals.

Do I WANT a national ID system? No

Would I care if we had one? No. I have nothing to hide.

I don't like government imposing rules and sanctions restricting things, but requiring proof of identity should come 10 steps before we arrive at required health insurance (which we are already at).

I don't care either way, I just don't understand the mindset that an ID system is unfair...

Not picking at you but that is the mindset that scares me. And it all begins with something like a voter ID. Next thing you know there is nothing wrong with being required to register all guns, you know, just so the government can keep them out of the criminals hands.

Anyway, I think I have explained my opposition to the "benign" voter ID laws so that even the simplest fool can understand it.

A photo ID to vote isn't a big government issue.

If we were rallying for less government we'd be trying to get rid of having to register to vote. What a PITA it is to register. Have to do it ahead of time even. The horror... the horror.

You have to provide a government-issued photo ID to purchase a gun from a firearms dealer. Where is the democrat outrage on that??

They seem to be outraged that we can even buy guns so I don't think the ID makes it to their radar ;) .

All citizens have a social security card. So.....I guess we already do have a form of national ID.

So, if I show my SS card at the polls they will let me vote?

I guessing by your answer, since you were not very clear, that you are for a national ID card that you are rquired to carry at all times to prove who you are along with the requisite laws and regulations that will punish you if you do not have it?

So which president was linked to ACORN??

P.S. Nobody is suggesting a national ID. That is a lib tactic of distract and paint with a broad brush to try to get people away from the topic. We dont fall for that sort of thing.

    Its worth repeating

"That is a lib tactic of distract and paint with a broad brush to try to get people away from the topic. We dont fall for that sort of thing. "

Do try and stay on topic.

LOL Yes, we don't want to distract the simple folk with facts about real problems. Easier to focus on made up problems and unneeded laws to address them.

I'm guessing you have no idea what I am for because I didnt say. But you seem to have no problems reading my mind and putting words into my mouth....tired strategy. All I said was that I have no issues with showing an ID for the privilege to vote.....period.

If I could read your mind then I would not have try to figure out what you are saying when you give an evasive answer when dodging a simple question. More tired strategy ;)

True but iff-n I need to shoot 29 more things after the first shot... it is nice to know I can without taking the time to reload. Sometimes you have to look past the obvious of short sightedness for the bigger picture.

The only people this law will disenfranchise are the ones that had no business being at the voting both to start with. You really have to question the motives of the people who are against to this law.
Liberals shouldn't be too concerned as their base are used to showing cards for medicaid, welfare and every other facet of the public dole they live off of......showing a form of ID to vote shouldn't be to taxing....
