Ok so I have an idea and would like some feedback. On a softball forum I used to frequent we had an equipment test and sharing group. Basically what would happen is that when a new bat would come out the people who wanted to try it would get together and divide up the cost of the bat among themselves. They would all PayPal the money to one trusted member and he would go buy the bat and he would be the first tester. He would create a thread and post his review and after the predetermined time was up he would ship to the next person on the list who would then use, post his review and send along. After everybody had there chance to test it, a drawing was held and whoevers name was drawn got to keep the product for good. This gave everyone who wanted to test a product before dropping a couple hundred bucks a chance to see if they wanted to buy it if they didn't win. I know I'm a new member and have no trust or reputation here so if y'all like the idea I would suggest getting another more trusted member to be the "host"

    Any interest guys?

I remember that going on through one of the softball forums I frequent. Thing with trying bats first is that you can't do that in a store. One swing and the bat is used. With archery gear you can go to any pro shop and they will set you up to try it out. Not to mention that alot more problems can go wrong with a bow(dry fire, cracked/split limbs, broken string, etc...) then could go wrong with a bat. And I understand that you can crack a bat but chances are greater of breaking a bow before a bat. Plus you have to setup the bow each time which takes skill and I wouldn't want the person before me setting it up and damaging it before I get it.

Not trying to crush your idea but think it would be tough to do in this case.

It never occurred to me about doing that with bows. A bow is way to personal of an item do do it with. I was thinking more along the lines of accessories, or other things that you would use while bowhunting. Climbing stands, range finders, climbing sticks, blinds and other things like that.

I agree with you on that, before I purchased my bow I went and shot a bow that another person swore would be the right bow for me to use, but his taste was different than mine. I think something with less preferences, cause with bows some people like a longer axle to axle length while other like a more compact bow.

It would be interesting with small stuff. But I'm not so sure it would be that easy to coordinate. And one guy could decide to keep the item and not pass it along. I agree most guy on this site are good but we don't know everyone. And the possibility that the item could be damaged in the care of someone else. But I would be up to trying it with a less expensive item around 50 dollars. Maybe get 10 guys, 5 bucks each and we try out your idea. If it doesn't work we are out 5 bucks not the end of the world.

I'm game. So we just need 8 more people and to figure out what we want to test first.

I was think of some ground rules. Maybe
    1. Must ship with tracking number
    2. Must take pictures when you first get the item and when you send it off so there is proof of the condition.
    3. The person who shipped maintains responsibility until item is recieved. (Maybe shipping with insurance would be a good idea.)
    4. Item must be shipped on your last day of your 2 week trial(maybe more maybe less just a thought)
    5. If you keep the item when youre not supposed to you are immediately barred from ever participating again.

It could work with accessories. Dont know why but a bow was the first thing that came to mind when I read your first post.

Sounds cool. I would totally be in. Maybe we could test a quiver or something. The raffle at the end sounds cool. And you could get to test out the product first.
