Do you agree with it? Should you get a job just because your a "minority" over a similiary qaulified white person? Can women do the same job as males (firefighting, soldier)? Should woman be held to lesser standards (higher mile run times? Less pushups?) Act accordingly people... Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
Do you agree with it? Should you get a job just because your a "minority" over a similiary qaulified white person? No and vice versa, which still happens. Can women do the same job as males (firefighting, soldier)? Yes, just like some men cannot do those jobs, it's more about the person than male or female Should woman be held to lesser standards (higher mile run times? Less pushups?) No
Do you agree with it? NO Should you get a job just because your a "minority" over a similiary qualified white person? NO Can women do the same job as males (firefighting, soldier)? Depends on the job and the woman. Just saying 'soldier' or 'firefighter' is too general. I've seen you, and I've certainly seen bigger, stronger women than you. Should woman be held to lesser standards (higher mile run times? Less pushups?) NO
I'll say it. The world needs more Christines. To the OP, don't be that guy. Don't ask a question and not state your opinion until you've seen the masses state theirs. That guy is the one Christine used to kick the stuffing out of when he snapped her bra in high school.
I was not "Waiting for the masses" When the OP states his opinion right away, it turns into HIS thread, this is a general opinion thread. My views are known quite well i am sure...
I'm sure you weren't waiting on them to form your opinion. IMO, when the OP asks for an opinion and doesn't state his, he's asking for others to assume they know what his is. That's been done. I just think it'd be refreshing if someone who already has an opinion would explain theirs and and then ask others what they thought on the subject. I'd like to hear yours. I think the weird guy in the tank top asked too.
Well if i must, Let the best person for the job take it. Color or sex shouldnt matter, BUT, the requirements should be even. But that is also what you expected to hear? No?
Will you feel the same when whites the minority? Just a question..... To anyone If there was a way to interview people without knowing what they looked like or sounded like for that matter, I think we might be able to see the equality that most say they want. Thing is humans for 99% of jobs get hired by humans, so it's flawed from the start. It just gets further messed up when the government tries to correct what can't be corrected.
This is perfect, and true. The old saying goes, "Its who you know". And that holds true for almost anything in life. Look at Hook's thread, his friend got him in, he made the change. Was he qualified? Im sure, probably one of the more qualified, but alas, without the friend , hes still at his old job. I may be slighty biased, since my career field has all kinds of crap-*** minority laws, but i have accepted that as so...
My experience so far has varied. Alot of tests award "bonus points" and then once the final "list" has been made, they hire accordingly.
Ben, equal opportunity says that you cannot discriminate on the grounds of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, or sexual orientation. The affirmative action says employers must give preference to women and minorities. Then to make things clearer, they added reverse discrimination into the mix. So if you are a heterosexual male of European descent affirmative action says you should not be hired, but if you feel you were not hired and you were more qualified, you can sue for reverse discrimination.
