Alright so I got one of these cameras for Christmas and im playing around with it finally. Is there a way to turn the camera on from the controller or can you only turn it on on the camera?

Are you talking about power or recording? I think you have to power on the camera manually and then the remote is to start and stop recoding.

Okay, I'm pretty sure you do that from the camera itself.

You have to turn it on at the camera but that's why you have the remote. In standby mode it will last many hours so turn it on and jeer the remote near by for when it is time to film.

Even go pros need to be in ready mode. The epics will last close to 4 hours in ready mode when temps are 20 and above. As it gets colder batteries die quicker but they will still last close to three. I've been using them for a few weeks trying to get a reverse angle shot. I have had them last 3.5 hours and 3 min of recording and still have done life left. Key is to use ultimate lithium's. Regular batteries won't cut out if your planning on leaving it in idle mode.

If you mount on your bow then you don't need to keep on ready. I've had the one on my bow for months and through multiple uses.

This is probably what i will end up doing with it, having second angle facing back. Still kinda in the air on if I wanna buy another to mount on a bow hanger or not. Would like something that you can turn on and off from a remote but the gopro's have a good tag on them
