Question: I have a Sony NX70U with a varizoom ... but my hunting buddy is looking to pick up an affordable entry level hd camcorder ... but wants to have a remote on his fluid head ... will all the Sonys have a port to plug in a zoom/record remote ? if so ... will the features on the remote eliminate the lens cover from opening and shutting (noise issue) when you turn it on ... if not ... how loud & how big of a deal is this shutter noise in a hunting situation? Hoping some of you have them and can shed some light on this for us. ?? Any recommendations on a camcorder model to buy ? as well as a remote brand & model / .. pros and cons ..?

    Thanks

The Sony CX110 has a a/v/r port to plug a remote into for self-filming. Sony makes a remote just for their cameras called Sony Remote Commander that works really good. It allows the person to manually zoom, take still photos, record and turn the camera on and off from this remote. The lens cover is manually opened and closed so there is no noise when the camera is turned on and off. Neat little camera for around $200. Hope this helps.
