A couple of the outdoors channels were just added to my cable about a month ago so I have been watching some hunting shows. I hadn't watched any in many years. I have started to see a trend with all the cutesy type stuff and it is getting annoying. I do like the MeatEater show.

While we are at it, can we get a hunting show without a Norwegian Death Metal soundtrack? They do realize that there are hunters out here without lifted diesels displaying giant TAP-OUT stickers, right?

(my Beelzebub call that mimics a deer chewing on eathworms. They cant resist that sound.) That is funny.

I'm okay with anyone who is on a show that can teach me something or has a higher knowledge than most hunters. Anyone else on a hunting show for any other effect doesn't interest me. Some people are better in front of a camera as far as entertaining and engaging which I like.

Now I'm going to go get one of those supercalli stabilizers so I can get a monster buck that loves the sound of chewing. I'm still laughing from that.

I will watch a hunting show if I find the hosts entertaining. The advertisements, etc. don't bother me....it's part of the deal. I watch to be entertained.

I've had enough of hunting shows in general. I have yet to see one that actually depicts real hunting situations or offer any helpful tips for hunters. Its all about hunting managed or high fenced ranches, harvesting unrealstic deer and only being able to do it if you have only the best equipment, 500 hundred trail cameras and tons of food plots with stands all around them to alow for every contingency, where the skill in that? Then at the end, they want to talk about getting kids more intersted in hunting, which I'm all for, but when kids watch these shows and see this, then go hunting expecting to have the same kind experiences, and then their let down and discouraged when you dont see much or anything at all. I know that its not about that, but try to keep a kid intrested when there's not much going on in the woods that day. What it boils down to is, hunting has become commercialized, and it doesnt stand for the same things and instill the same values that it once did.

The only show I really look forward to is bow hunt or die. Love watching real hunting, by real I mean people I can relate to Hunting in places I can relate to. Enjoy watching the hunts every week as the season goes on.

Tired of watching hunts in south Texas

well, my wife didn't want anything to do with hunting until she watched Ralph and Vicky's "The Choice" with me. now we got her a pink camo PSE and she thinks she wants to try some turkey hunting. i think there great shows. no swearing, nudity, sex, explicate behavior. i can watch them with my kids and not have the finger on the mute key! i like em. keep em comin!

I liked hunting shows waaaaay back in the day. Back when it was a novelty. (Dan Fitzgerald's Passing Thru... and stuff like that)

When they got popular, I found them much less amusing. I did watch Archers Choice (Ralph and Vicki) and some Shockey and Fred Eichler.

Anyhow, cutesy chick hunters who clearly had no idea how to hunt, but were featured in shows was a big reason I quit watching those channels at all. (Shows like Tred Barta's didn't help either)

I rarely ever watch the online stuff... but I did catch and enjoy a Heartland Bowhunter recently that had a kid hunter featured.

The biggest factor for me when watching a show or DVD is first and foremost the quality and composition of the content. Shows like Heartland Bowhunter and Driven are awesome for just the shear quality of there product. Second is how informative it is, personally I love Midwest Whitetail. I think their format is topnotch and Winke seems to be the genuine article. He's smart, effective and most of all he seems honest with what he puts out there. The entertainment factor is last for me. If the above criteria is met then I will be entertained. When you start throwing screwballs in the mix that seem to just be in love with the camera my interest is lost. The wildgame innovations guys and Willie from Buck Commander would fall into that catagory for me. jsut my 2 cents.

And I thought I was the only one that was tired of it. It's obvious that the pursuit channel is struggling because every other show is an advertisement about products that don't even relate to hunting. Sad.

It may sound sexist but I don't really care......Women shooting bows, wearing camo and hunting ect isn't much of a turn on. The reason I say it is look at how they market them(the women), the camera angles and the cheesy commercials with the indirect sexual references ...Tiffany with buck lure in the the bathroom ect...So back to my original point when I think of attractiveness, and women...it's not hunting shows.

Here are my problems with these shows: 1) I can't figure out if Pat & Nicole are married, or just living in sin?
And 2) Tiff has a manlier voice than Lee. That's just not right.
I'll stick with Hunsucker and Co. at HB.

Nope. But, there was a pretty cool antler arch on the altar and antlers in the bouquets. :tu:
